Coyote Preserve Golf Club
About
Coyote Preserve Golf Club in Fenton is one of the only courses in the area designed by Arnold Palmer. The course has a hilly terrain that provides plenty of elevation changes a well as stunning views. Tumbling across deep ravines and native wetlands, the layout requires many carries over dramatic depressions and water hazards but many are seemingly intimidating but actually quite reasonable. Massive, finely sculpted bunkers strategically frame the greensides of many holes. While some of them are manageable, others are deep and sod-faced. The tricky hazards in conjunction with the dramatic elevations demand both accuracy and creative shot-making. The golf course has a memorable finish with a par-5, risk-reward hole. There is ample room off the tee on this downhill, dogleg left hole and it presents a few different options for the second shot. With some thought, scoring par is definitely a possibility.

Tough but fair
Greens were med-fast. Course is very picturesque. A few nice elevation changes. A few deer flies were buzzing around but not to bad. Bunker need some work. Play here if you want an up north feel.
Not for 18 handicappers
I've played this course brfore, beautiful condition every time. Everything for most of the holes is right in front of you, IF you are good off the tee. Design is made to make you think your way around this track, not a RIP it and GRIP it course. Overall I love playing here over a normal "muni" with minimal maintenance. Make sure you spend time on the practice green, you'll need it to keep from 3 and 4 putting these greens. This is a great course, and value.
Great Course
The Coyote Preserve is a great course for a skills levels. They have 5 different tee boxes to accommodate low and high handicaps. The course is well kept and the greens roll true. I will definitely play this course again.
TPC.Quality at an affordable price..
I'd have to say one of the best golf courses I've played.Like being upnorth.Very challenging for all level players. Staff is very friendly, rate of play moves very well.18 holes 4. To 4.50 hrs. Highly recommend to everyone. It will definitely give you a reality check on how well you play. The fairways and greens were in great shape. Its a definite must play course. .
beautiful course
Like most of the other reviews say, this is a challenging course. Greens were in good shape. Lots of blind shots to navigate. This is one of the nicest courses around. If you are a below average golfer i would not recommend playing here.
Too hard
This course was so hard it was not even fun to play. The women cannot get there in regulation. Your game better be on if you're going to go here
Golf at Coyote Preserve with my Brother and friends
Price was outstanding for a course of this caliber and in great shape. I'm moving south to Florida and wanting to play as much golf as possible with my Brother and friends and this was one of the courses I wanted to play again before I move. Glad we did
Tough Track
Heard a lot about Coyote Preserve so I decided to drive up from Ann Arbor. While the outdoor areas are kind of small, their range and practice green were in good shape. Overall I would say that I was more impressed by the layout of the course more than it's condition. Greens were a little beaten up & some fairways were extremely bumpy. That being said, it is quite an enjoyable course to the golfers eye. GPS recommended for blind shots/layups.
Love This Track
I have not played this course in a couple of years but soon remembered how good it is. The course was in very nice shape, and the staff was friendly. The play was a bit slow on the front 9 but opened right up on the back and there were no delays. Great Up North feel to this course.
what a deal !
I SAW THIS ON GOLF NOW AND CALLED MY BUDDIES. THE PLACE JUST PLAYS LIKE A PRO COURSE AND HAS A GREAT FEEL.DON'T PASS ON THIS PLACE.
Great ciourse
This course is in the top 5 in southeast Michigan. Great design by Arnold Palmer. Very challenging and tests your entire game. Conditions excellent and staff are very friendly.
Great challenging course but greens need to be faster
Beautiful scenery especially with the fall colors starting to take shape. Great, challenging design, however the greens were too slow. The cart we took was a bit dirty (it could be just that one we took, we didn't think to check first before putting our bags on).
Friendly and helpful staff. Pace of play was OK. We finished the round on a Saturday afternoon in about 4.25 hours (We zoomed through the front 9 but the back 9 was slow). Great price.
BKArmstrong
Had not played the Preserve for a number of years as the greens were not favorable that time. They have come back but were not like they used to be, fast, true & everything rolled out. They were slow this time, almost like they rolled them without cutting. The bunkers were also pretty washed out & have been better. Still is a great track, excellent mix of holes & absolutely beautiful scenery. Hope the to play and next year & hope to play more often but they have to get those greens back to smooth, true rolling & at least 11's.
Tough
Great layout and challenging in most areas
The only issue was that they let it rain on this course.
Difficult course.
Course is pretty difficult to play. A little more open on the back. Great deal through golfnow. Can't beat it for $15
HORRIBLE PACE OF PLAY
The pace of play was terrible, 5.5 hours on a mid Monday afternoon. Literally hit a ball wait 10-15 minutes hit a ball wait 10-15 minutes. There was no ranger anywhere on the course. Hard to stay warmed up and get anything going when waiting around on literally 3 groups of people on almost every hole.
The course itself is nice and the pro shop guy was professional, however due to the slow play not sure if I'll be back especially for an Arnold Palmer associated course, disappointed to say the least.
Don't Play if you are looking for a quick round
I play a lot of golf around the state at various golf courses. I typically play 2-3 times a week. My round at Coyote Preserve, by far, was the longest round for 18 holes. We saw a ranger on hole 1 and never saw him/her again, which was disappointing because the pace of play was ridiculous. We ended up quitting on the 16th hole. I am extremely disappointed that I spent over $80 to play this course that did not live up to the hype.
awesome
Awesome course. Friendly staff. Course is well maintained.
Updates needed
On arrival we found the golf cart to be very dirty with ripped seats and bald tires. The sand traps do not drain well and were like cement, especially on the front 9. The pace of play was very slow for a weekday(5 hours for two players). We found the course hilly and challenging but will not return.
