Stonegate Golf Club

About
Situated just a few minutes from Muskegon, Stonegate Golf Club in Stone Lake sprawls across gently rolling hills that are surrounded by the beauty of the Manistee National Forest. The undulating terrain provides dramatic elevation changes that can give you a different round every time you play. Although there are residences bordering the golf course, it still feels completely secluded thanks to the sheltering trees and pristine natural setting that is accented with marshes and ponds. The golf course has a variety of greens, most are slightly raised and some are open in front while others have slopes and bunkers protecting them. The putting surfaces roll true with only a few mild undulations. Stonegate's fairways can be tricky since they’re lined with mature pines and hardwoods and more often than not you’ll find one or more bunkers guarding the most opportune landing areas.

Great Course
This course is definitely a hidden gem. Beautiful fairways and nice greens. We got paired with another two and had a great time.
Top Notch
We arrived an hour before our tee time and we were to be paired with another twosome, we went to the range to warm-up. It was a very hot and humid day and the pro shop clerk came out to the range to inform us we could start earlier as a twosome. Thank you so much, we got out ahead of some of the heat and played in less than 4 hours.
Underwhelmed
Based on all the reviews, I was expecting so much more. While course conditions were good and greens kept up, the layout was nothing spectacular and not at all the up north experience some of the reviews mentioned. I've played up north golf and this is not it. It's a decent enough track, and if you can score a good price probably worth a visit, if you are in the area as I was having golfed in Ravenna in the morning. I would not go out of my way to play this course again. BTW, If you are ordering. food ahead at the turn as I did, and order a brat as I did, do not ask for heavy mustard as I did. When I got to the 10th and opened the box I discovered whoever made it put literally 1/2 a bottle of mustard on it. You have to be a special kind of stupid to do something like that.
Great design
Course was great. Love playing it
But we were following 2/ foursomes who were all obviously the same group playing a scramble.and they had no concept of ready golf, we had to wait several minutes on every shot. No rangers that we saw.
Wow
Immaculate conditions. Maybe best value in the state o with hot deal. 10/10
June golf at Stonegate
Staff was great. Fairways and greens were perfect. Loved playing there with my buddy Joel
Painted Michigan bluegrass fairways, great shape as usual
Course in great shape as usual, fairways had a blue green “dye” fertilizer. Prices getting up there without golfnow don’t think we’d pay $75 each or so but for 2 of us it’s a treat. Probably the nicest course along the lakeshore. Thoroughbred is making a comeback but has a long way to go to match Stonegate although the hilly Arthur Hills layout never loses its luster.
Personally I think Chase Hammond has the best rolling greens around but is a noisy bugger.
Oceana, Benona, and Colonial ‘s prices are getting beyond our retired reaches .
Underrated Course - Great track
Had an awesome first time at the course. Course is extremely underrated. Had an awesome breakfast burrito before the round, course was in great shape, and we moved around the course without any issues of slow play. Highly recommend the course, well done.
Worth the money
It was a perfect day. Grabbed at hot deal for 10am, used my points and a coupon code, my round cost 7$.
No complaints.
The course is in super shape. The greens are firm and fast
Great course
Great course and excellent staff. Some of the toughest greens I’ve played.
Tricky greens
Greens are a little too fast for my liking. Impossible to stop a downhill putt.
