About
Situated just a few minutes from Muskegon, Stonegate Golf Club in Stone Lake sprawls across gently rolling hills that are surrounded by the beauty of the Manistee National Forest. The undulating terrain provides dramatic elevation changes that can give you a different round every time you play. Although there are residences bordering the golf course, it still feels completely secluded thanks to the sheltering trees and pristine natural setting that is accented with marshes and ponds. The golf course has a variety of greens, most are slightly raised and some are open in front while others have slopes and bunkers protecting them. The putting surfaces roll true with only a few mild undulations. Stonegate's fairways can be tricky since they’re lined with mature pines and hardwoods and more often than not you’ll find one or more bunkers guarding the most opportune landing areas.

Stonegate does not disappoint
Stonegate is one of my favorite courses in the Muskegon area and this round did not disappoint.
I booked my tee time for one but joined 3 course members on the first hole and they couldn’t have been nicer. Course was in great shape fairways and greens in mid season shape.
Best for the price
A great layout in the woods that is worth the money. Perfect? No but a fantastic course for its middle of the road pricing

Myself, then buddy, then wife
Great course, thanks to Julie!
Had played here twice this year with wife and buddies and really like it. Had a golf now tee time on Monday 11-8/21 by myself and then my boss texted and invited me to play the Meadows GVSU and said yes. Was willing to forfeit the $27.99 and thought why not see if they would be flexible and play 9 with wife on Tuesday 11/9/21 after our round down at the Ravines in Saugatuck.
Julie and I emailed back and forth and was accommodating. Great customer service. Course in fantastic shape, actually much better than Ravines.
Stonegate a great layout, best in Muskegon area. Last day open this year 11/10/21. See you next year
Never understood why the superintendent “paints” the tees and greens? Fertilizer?
Overrated
We played in the fall, I expected fall rates, didn't get. Plus they charge a percentage for using a credit card. Not pleased about paying that much for a so so course.
Rude Staff
When we played it was schedule as league pay at a lower rate. When we said something we were told basically to bad. Never informed us we had to play front nine twice. Have played here a few times this year and same treatment always. Members are allowed to cut in and slow up play. Our men’s league has 72 players and they had a shot gun start but had them all go off the back nine. Very caring.
WOW
This was the best course I have played in the past couple of years for courses under $100.00. Tees were in great shape reminded me of the tees at Augusta perfection! The greens had been rolled that morning and they were very quick and fast which made fora very challenging round. But all that said this is a course that I will play again in the future!

Great course, very well maintained, cushy golf carts, friendly staff, medium difficulty. Would recommend to any level player!

Great Layout. Each hole looks like it is its own framed picture. The course was in great condition from tee to green.
