Bridges - The Tradition at Firewheel Golf of Garland
About
The Bridges at Firewheel Golf Park is a 27-hole layout that has been a regular host of U.S. Open and U.S. Amateur qualifying tournaments. The course is comprised of three nines that can be played in different 18-hole combinations. The Tradition nine is the shortest of the three at just over 3,200 yards from the back tees. What it lacks in length, it makes up for with the rolling terrain. Golfers will face tricky uneven lies in addition to strategically placed bunkers and towering oak and pecan trees. There are also two creeks that crisscross through the entire golf course. They come into play on several holes. Not only does the Bridges provide three 18-hole courses, there is also Firewheel's original 18-hole Old Course, which was followed soon after by the 18-hole Lakes Course.

I would like to play it in the spring. I think it would bea much more pleasant experience. Nonetheless, nice course that provides a challenge but not overly difficult that high handicappers would not enjoy. Multiple course allow for different challenges a club selection. I wish it were on GolfNow more often
Great greeNs
Awesome deal.. solid course with absolutely perfect greens
Great Course!!
I played the Champions and Traditions courses. Both were in great shape the greens could have been in better shape. I guess you can't expect much better with the amount of play the courses are getting. I look forward to playing the other 9 hole...The Master's!
Great course close to home
Challenging layout with much variety!
Love Firewheel complex
The Complex is always challenging and in great condition !
Firewheel Park- Masters and Traditions
This has 27 holes. I love Champions and Traditions is ok but I don't like the Masters course. It's too hard for the average player. Problem is only 2 of the nines are open at anytime and you don't know which ones. I will call in advance and make sure which ones it is. I don't want to play Masters again. The rough was challenging also.
It was...ok
It's a challenging course and pretty popular. Greens were okay. Lots of pitch marks left unrepaired. Rough here is tougher than most and you will have a hard time finding your ball at times. It's thick and I had to club up to have a chance to get close to the green. Lots of water and trees that demand you keep it in the fairway. Pace was okay. Not the worst I've seen and marshalls were out helping. A single did pass our group which I found out they would let that happen on a busy day.
No cart service which makes no sense. Somebody lost out on a lot of tips Sunday. Water was available about every 3 holes which was great.
I'd play here again if I can get another GolfNow deal but glad I didn't pay full price given the conditions of the greens and lack of on course service.
Good Fairways
The fairways were great the greens we're in bad shape a lot of ball marks that were taken care of it just looks like it took a beating on the greens but I have seen this course in great shape before
This course is a winner
Greens are mostly excellent. A little crabgrass creeping into several greens, but overall great bent grass greens, good fairways and tees. Unforgiving rough, but that's golf. Players are not raking traps.
Good value.
Great Layout
Played Champions/Traditions.....considering recent rains, the course was in great condition and the bent greens were rolling very true. This is a great track and if you haven't played it, you should get out there ASAP!
great shape
This is one of the better or the best public course in Dallas. the fairways are always in great shape and so are the greens. This course is not for the beginner. it has many challenges such as bunkers and water. it does require good shot making.
Just a couple of bad things about this course, slow play and a lot of people ( locales ) consider this their private course, but it is not, it is a public course, in fact it is the best of 3 courses that Freewheel offers. Has a good driving range and GPS on the carts with a club washer. The price for this course is very reasonable, if your over 60 the price is very good. If you like to play golf on a great public course, this is the place for you.
Bridges Course
Soft greens, smart layout, excellent rough. Good times!
Excellent course & conditions
Nice track with sufficient challenges to keep you concentrating on what you choose to hit. The greens ran well at moderate speed but it looks like a lot of players don't fix their ball marks. One of the better courses in this price range.
GREAT COURSE IN TOWN
Bridges at FireWheel is great course to have challenging game. Fairways are well kept, equal to country club level course. We had great time even at higher temps by noon.
Amazing
All I can say is that I will be booking every tee time I can with Golfnow because of the experience I had. I ended up going with my older brother and we had a tight game throughout the whole course. It was fun with a little bit of challenge thrown in. Thank you for the opportunity to play there because with out you, I wouldn't have heard of that place. Best part, it was only a 20 minute drive.
Great course
Slow guys in front of me that after holes finally let me play through. Pro shop staff was great
great track
I played the "traditions" course and will definitely be back to play the other two. Course is in great shape and is fair, as in rewarding a good shot and not a bad one.
