New Albany Links Golf Club
About
New Albany Links Golf Club sprawls across gently rolling hills covered with meandering creeks, mature trees, and native grasses and wetlands. There are also a number of lakes throughout that come into play on several holes. The golf course is a fair challenge but it prides itself on its playability. With tees ranging between 4,800 and 7,000 yards, the course accommodates a range of different skill levels. The layout features tree-lined fairways and strategically placed bunkers throughout. New Albany Links Golf Club's 12th hole is one of the course's most memorable. It requires a long drive and an approach that carries past a long bunker and a pond to a narrow green. To the left is certain punishment but a tough up and down waits if you miss right.

Fall Trip
We had a great time and the conditions especially the greens made it a fun time
A last resort
The pro shop was unfriendly and didn't inform us the course was being aerated while we were going to be playing. They also didn't offer a discount for the fact that the maintenance staff was punching the fairways and blowing the plugs off the fairway, including my tee ball on one hole. It was not a pleasant round of golf and I won't go back again.
Course to ourselves during Buckeye games!
So this course was really hard compared to others we've played. Though i am not sure what made it that way. We lost nearly 2 dozen balls, and one sentimentally meaningul ball marker. If not for the cooler, we would have had a miserable loop.
It might have been the new sticks I was trying to figure out which contributed to shots going all over the place.
Truly, though, the layout was nice, weather was perfect, and the Buckeyes won without us paying full attention.
I liked New Albany Links
Im a 7 handicap, so hopefully coming from a reliable sources. My friend and I enjoyed it very much. I think the reviews are a lot harsh. Yes, it is not absolutely plush, but greens and teeboxes were in good shape, along with fairways. Had some waste areas and bunker waste areas, etc...but Golf is a challenge. If you keep it in fairway, you were good. If not, you had the potential to create a challenge for yourself.
If you struck the ball well and putted well, you could score.
Thought the course was very nice for the Columbus area and at 45 dollars, it is a bargain...I would absolutely play it again and again....
Challenging
Since leagues are done this season it's moving little better but not by much. Teed off at 6pm, caught up with 5 some on 6 with 4 groups in front of them. Turned around played 4,5,6 again,7 and 8. Passed em all on 9. Glad that was their last stop. Played 5 more holes till dark. Greens will take a while to recover from summer league beating. Rough is little to tall prepare to loose few balls.
Highly Disappointed
I was highly disappointed in the course conditions
Pace of Play - You would think that playing in the 4th group of the day that getting 18 done in under 4 hours with a cart wouldn't be a problem, Wrong! Thanks in large part to no marshalls, our round took 4hrs 45 minutes.
Course Conditions - Almost every bunker on the course was unplayable. Greens were unmown and rock hard. Tee boxes were overgrown with limited areas to have a clean stance for teeing off. Fairways had very inconsistent grass. Rough was like hitting out of your backyard.
Golf Carts - One of the only places I know that still uses gas powered golf carts. Ours had a broken windshield and kept sputtering.
On Course Food & Beverage - We did not see the beverage cart until coming up the 17th fairway at 1145am. Given that it was a holiday weekend and 90 degrees outside, I found this to be unacceptable.
Value - At almost $70 for the round, I would not pay more then $20 to play this course.
In conclusion, I would not recommend spending your time playing at New Albany Links. This is highly unfortunate since the layout and course used to be one of the nicest in Central Ohio 5+ years ago, rivaling many country clubs in the area.
brown
Greens and fairways had many brown areas, even though the Summer has been wet & not very hot.
Wow how things have changed! and not for the better!
Haven't played New Albany Links in a few years. I remember it as one of the finest courses I have ever played. Times have certainly changed. The other reviews are accurate as to the poor course conditions. Not even close to what it used to be. Very disappointed.
Great layout
For the price I was expecting more. The golf carts were bad. They are redoing the sand traps so the entire back 9 traps are unplayable. The greens rolled nice but were really beat up. It has a great design and requires good shots but was expecting better condition.
Ever heard of a thing called a fungicide
This place is so sad. There is disease everywhere and they supposedly have a 170 members. Where is the money going? The parking lot is a joke and so are the greens. About 5 years ago new Albany links was worth $45 now I would not even play it for free.
Policies suck
My friend and I went out and finished 11 holes and it began to rain. We waited the rain out then called the clubhouse they said to come in. We went in expected to receive a rain check but instead they just told us we can either wait and play in the puddle filled fairways or we can just get the coupon we used back and come back another day, because that "saves the drama" aka they didn't want to give us anything back. They just wanted us to spend more there. I do not recommend new albany links the staff and course are not worth the money.
NA Links has went downhill in juts 5 years.......sad
First off I have played this course probably 30 plus times. I haven't played it more than 3 times in last 5 years. Things have changed, grounds crew hadn't even started moving holes or cutting greens or anything that would normally be done at 530 in the morning. Need more help with the crew as well. Sand traps Raul hitting out of rocks on most holes and only about half were even manicured. Greens were not water and the hole course was rock hard. You can tell that a dime hasn't been invested in this course in several years. Too bad
Too slow
Course is in very good shape.
Unfortunately, the pace of play was so slow, that I chose to end my round after 11 holes. Those 11 holes took about 3 1/2 hours. I don't know if was all attributable to slow players or if the course was overbooked that day, but it took way too long to play.
Will play again, but start earlier to give myself plenty of time.
The homes landscaping were more impressive
Seemed like the course only had enough gardeners to keep up with mowing. The sand traps were full of rocks , some had no sand . The lakes and borders were not maintained. The greens could be in far better shape but still playable. Sad to see this course could not stand out against a city course.
2nd time playing
I enjoyed the course - bunkers were not as well maintained on back 9 but overall course condition for significant rain was pretty good.
Fun Course
This course is alot of fun but challenging. Every hole you have bunkers or water hazards that come into play. The greens are heavily protected. The course conditions were great. The sand traps were playable for the most part. We did get rained on a little bit but nothing to stop play. This has become one of my favorite places to play.
Good couse
Course it was good to have been clean and maintenance. In addition, staff is also good, I was able to comfortably play.
Very good...but not what it used to be
Played yesterday afternoon on a Hotdeal. Clubhouse/Pub is awesome. Staff was very friendly. Course was nice minus a few unraked bunkers. Carts had a few problems, broken windshields on more than a few. The golf was great but very slow. 2 hours 5 minutes first 9 and 3+ hours on the back with no Rangers. I would play here again but book a 6am tee time rather than afternoon.
One of my fave courses
After over a day of torrential rain, we played here. It was cart path only because of some standing water but they were working diligently on bunkers and mowing to recover from the storms. The course is always in great shape. Greens are impeccable. Fast and true. I highly recommend playing here. You will want to return. Cheers.
Nice layout, great deal from GolfNow.
This is the first time I've played there this year, however the course was in nice shape. The bunkers were a little rough since there have been 3+ inches of rain the last couple days. It was Father's Day in the late afternoon so the number of golfers were less. It took 3 hours for 18 holes with cart path only and got a great rate of $23 from GolfNow. I will definitely play there more in the future.
