Indian Ridge Golf Club
About
Located just a few miles south of Oxford, Indian Ridge Golf Club sprawls across rolling countryside sprinkled with walnut and cedar trees. It's the only course around for miles, making it the default favorite for local golfers but it's also popular for the affordable rates. The location provides peaceful seclusion as well as idyllic scenery. The golf course has a classic design with plenty of variety, giving it appeal for players of all skill levels. Water hazards and bunkers come into play throughout the course, often making for difficult approaches. Indian Ridge Golf Club stretches to just over 7,000 yards from the back tees. There are some holes that will please long hitters and risk-reward opportunities that will test advanced players, but the design is still player friendly enough for high handicappers.

what an improvement over last year
Played the course today with a couple co-worker's .. WOW !! .. I couldn't believe how much better the course was this year then the last couple years.. The fairways and rough were 100% better and the greens are coming back to the "the good ole days" .. The sand bunkers are still under construction, but overall the course is good.. I would (for the first time in 5 yrs) recommend this course to friends... The staff was very friendly as well...
Indian ridge
I was very impressed with what the new owners have accomplished thus far. Although the bunkers needed some work (needed drained and new sand) the course was in much better shape than what I remember it. Last year I told myself I wouldn't return to Indian ridge but I read it was under new ownership so I decided I would see if they had made any changes. The fairways were in great shape a lot better than I remember. $20 for 18 is a way better deal than Hueston woods overpriced course. I will definitely play this course more this year!
Oh and hurry up and get your liquor license, I wanted a beer! Lol
Course Improves
Played there last year and the course was awful. Heard the course was bought and reopened a couple of weeks ago. Played the course this past week and wow what a difference. Fairway, tees and greens were very nice and the rough was mowed. The customer service was very good, the guy at the counter explained they had new owners and were improving the golf course. He was correct, he also explained that the bunkers were very bad and they had fixed 5 of the 58. They are trying to fix a couple bunkers each week and by the end of the summer they will be good again. I would recommend giving these guys another chance, you won't be disappointed.
Neglected course
I have played there a few years back. The course has been neglected. Bunkers were unplayable the fairways looked like the rough and most of the green were bare. I will not play there again . If I could do a show save my golf course this would be on top of the list.
Field to play golf....
The first hole was ok... you could actually tell where the fairway started and stopped. I was actually excited to play the course, as it is fairly close to work and school (more golf time!). But the course is horrible, and not well maintained. The bunkers are full of water and weeds, no sand. The fairways were cut... but indistinguishable. The rough was cut, but full of clumps of grass and the bugs were horrible. The greens were pretty depressing. I thought about actually leaving... and I was only playing 9.
If you're looking for a place to just hit a ball... Indian Ridge is great or you could just go to field.
Complete Joke
Do Not play there!! Fairways where higher than any rough I've been in. Greens where burnt. Course looks like it hasn't been cut all year. Looks like @ one time it was a nice course but that was many many moons ago. Do not waste your time or money!! I personally can't believe that golf now would even allow this course on their site!!!!
DO NOT PLAY HERE!
The greens weren't green they were brown. The fairway was over grown and all weeds no grass. If you hit your ball in the rough you will never find it even if you just hit it off the edge of the fair way. It honestly looks like the course hasn't been touched all year they couldn't pay me to play there again. That course had so much potential but it looks like a bunch of kindergarteners are maintaining it. The only bright side is it seems like the staff knows it's horrid so they try to do everything they can to make it as pleasant as possible. If there ever is a show that does golf course rescues they should do this place first. DO NOT PLAY HERE!!
Decent Course, Nothing Spectacular
Overall, the course was not bad. The greens were a little choppy, but only in spots. The rolling hills of the landscape provided for a nice atmosphere and adequate challenge.
Terrible
Worst course I've ever played. It's a shame because the course has potential but it could not be run worse. DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY
Fix the greens
Greens were extremely slow and very rough. Putts bounced and had weeds growing. The rest of the course was fantastic but the poor greens really ruined the round.
Not as it once was
I used to love this course! Love the layout and have always thought the staff was professional.
I used to play here 1 or 2 times a week.
But this course is in need of help.
Carts have gone from smooth battery powered to old noisy gas.
Tee boxes are long with crab grass.
Fairways are long and have weeds.
Bunkers are like concrete.
Greens are dead or dying. Covered with ant hills ball marks and just dirt in spots.
Practice greens are unusable.
It just needs help.
let down
Disappointing to say the least. what ever this course was its not that now!!! clover has taken over only because it hasn't been cut by the crew and left to seed if they have a grounds crew...it looks like someone is just cutting the grass oh clover When ever....if you don't live 5miles away and have nowhere else to go don't make the drive....sorry!!! but my opinion.. play elsewhere....I will never go back!
This course is in bad shape!!!!!
The course use to be in great shape years ago. This year was the first time I've been there and it was VERY disappointing. Greens were burnt up, fairways were uncut. Another golfer told me the bank took there mowers and they were about to lose the course. DON'T WASTE YOUR TIME AND MONEY.
This course is reasonably challenging
Indian Ridge has many nice holes with different looks and elevations. It is a challenging but fun course for a senior player. The setting is very good for a course that is a little bit hilly especially on the back nine. The greens, tee boxes and fairways were in pretty good shape, but the rough was full of weeds and could be better maintained. The short cart paths could use some filling in of potholes and uneven cart-driving areas. Good value overall and I plan to play it again soon.
Good course lay out, needs a grounds keeper, has been neglected since it opening.
The green's and fairways are in fair conditions, the sand traps are abandoned and not fit for playing.
Poor condition
Grass had not been cut. Sand traps were full of weeds and no sand. Weeds were growing in the fairway and the rough was all clover and impossible to find your golf ball.
Course is currently in awful shape
For the price and convenience only, I recommend this course. The a/c in the club house has been broke all summer (I feel bad for the employees ) the ball washers have any kind of liquid in them, just mud and brushes, and the place is covered in clover, even the fairways. This place is 5 miles from my house or I wouldn't play here. This used to be a decent course a few years ago but it's pathetic now. Some of the rough was over 6" long so if you weren't in the fairway you lost your ball. They need to do something or sadly, this course is going to go under soon. If I can get on for less than $20 I go here, but if it's more than that I'd rather go to any of the surrounding courses.
Poor conditions
Fairways had weeds and dead grass everywhere. Almost every bunker had standing water. Greens were ate up with ball marks. Used to love this course, looks like they've just let it go.
Could not find shots in the "fairway"
I have played this course at least 25 times of the past 3 years. This is the worse condition that I have seen this course in. I usually play this course as a single because of the low price and not many golfers on the course during the week. Most of the fairways had either high grass of it had recently been mowed leaving bunches of cut grass piled up. Move weeds then grass in the rough and on tee boxes. Many greens had large bare spots. Little or no sand in traps. I won't be back any more this year.
greens very hard
greens not in good shape. extremely hard to hold a shot. not much grass on greens
Was in excellent condition 10 yrs ago when Mark Moore took over as superintendant. He is the former super of Walden Ponds. Has not been neglected since opening, just past few years. Some people shouldn't post if they don't know what they are talking about!!
