The Links At Lighthouse Sound
About
The Links at Lighthouse Sound is an Arthur Hills-designed golf course that covers a scenic and varied terrain. Hills took advantage of not only the beautiful views afforded by the course's location right along the Assawomen Bay, but also the natural diversity of the terrain. He routed the front nine along the bay while the back nine borders the St. Martin's River, through mature hardwoods and pristine marshland. The golf course is home to the longest cart bridge in the country, stretching almost 1,500 feet to bring golfers from the bay-side holes to the marshland holes. It is also the only course in the U.S. with five consecutive holes playing to the same double green. The signature hole is the par-3 fifth, which requires a carry over a marsh to a nearly island green bordered by water on three sides.

Must play if in the OCMD area
Chose to play this course while in OCMD because of the many reviews I read on Golf Now. Unfortunately, we could not get a deal on the rates and ended up paying the full rate of $99 for an 11:30 tee time. After playing the course, we both agreed that it was worth $100+.
Simply put, this course has some of the best views you can ask for. The Par 3 5th was simply stunning with views of the OC skyline and the bay behind the green.
All of the tee boxes and greens were in fantastic shape. The greens were actually some of the SLOWEST I have played in a long time, but I wasn't complaining too much. That just gave a hacker like me a little more room for error.
As a high-handicapper, I was nervous going in that the course was going to nail me, but I ended up shooting about an average score for myself, so don't be weary of people warning of how challenging of a track it is.
I've only ever played one course in the OCMD area, so I can't compare Lighthouse Sound to others all that well, but like I said, I feel that it was certainly worth $100+ to play.
Wow!
Everything it was hyped up to be and more. Course and views were both spectacular!!
great course
Course was in great shape, staff treated us well, greens were slower than expected but rolled.true. Definatey will.be back this summer
beautiful course
The course was in great shape. The views from the tee boxes over looking the bay were fantastic took a few pictures. The only complaint was the worst chicken salad sandwich I ever had. The bread was stail and the sandwich was dripping mayonnaise. Plus the salad had no flavor. I would have expected more from course with an executive chef. Other than that I would have given a 5 but the sandwich literally left a bad taste in my mouth
Fantastic Course and Views
Great course in great shape. Very playable, but if you miss you will likely pay for it. Great views of OC, MD throughout the course.
Worth every penny!
Everything about the course is amazing from the views, to the layout, to the tees, fairways, and greens. It was a great choice for a golf vacation.
Beautiful scenery great course
This course overlooks the bay and a awesome view of Ocean City. It has some difficult holes but a great course all around.
beautiful layout
This is a great golf course..The Poa Annua has taken over the bent greens not as nice as used to be...Still one of the best courses in the area...The only complaint was it was slow, over 5 hours, and the marshalls did nothing eventhough the foursome in front of us was a hole behind...
Beautiful views of the bay with always interesting challenges.
Drop dead beautiful course with interesting over-marsh shots to keep the golf challenging but not impossible. Bring a camera to memorialize some of the great views of Ocean City and the marsh, as well as the long cart path bridges.
slow play, poor green condition, and general maintenance req.for a top 100 rated course.
Way over priced @150-200. Living off past rep . Greens need attention.and fairways a bit thin in spots. Definit ely not top 100 Would play again only @ big discount.
Friendly staff and great views.
With the discount received it was well worth it. Back nine is very tight and not as fun as the front 9. Friendly staff and the course was in excellent shape.
Great course but challenging
I played on a 48 degree day with a 15 mile per hour wind. Holes into the wind were extremely challenging - the course has some long forced carries that were intimidating at times. A good mix of short and long par fours, with some really tough fours and fives. The finishing hole was a short five, lots of fun with a severe green to tax wayward shots. Favorite hole was #4 - long carry over marsh off the tee, with green tucked back into a little protected area. Greens were fun - lots of bunkering and countours. Have fun, but be sure to bring enough balls!
On a cold windy day this course was really tough.
Played with a member that was very friendly and gave me all the local knowledge. Great course will play again!
Great views of Ocean City on an interesting course.
The course was wet the day we played (carts on paths - lots of walking but negating the cart based GPS) from the white tees - a good choice - no roll on shots. Greens rolled true but slower than in season. The first hole (and the adjacent 8th) are ordinary but many of the others are challenging and provide a variety of layouts which require some plan of attack. Our off season rate was great but in season I feel this course, while top notch, is overpriced. Check for the discounted rates on Golfnow.com. Chose the correct tees, bring plenty of balls, and enjoy this bayside beauty.
Awesome course
For Feb. course was in great shape. Holes on the bay looking at Ocean City are fabulous. Range balls were nice addition for warm up.2
Incredible layout, beautiful scenery
My first time playing the course, loved it. It was a cold windy day, but course was in good condition for February. The gorgeous scenery can be distracting, but adds to the experience. The fairways for the most part are forgiving to the stray drive, although many greens are quite small.
Definitely want to play it again when weather is more comfortable.
good conditions for winter
The layout was one of the best I have played; great variety in the hole lengths and types. The greens were a little rough, but for winter they were fine. Fairways, rough fine shape. 15-20 mph winds made the course play very long and hard. Will definitely return.
Beautiful layout, better bring your "A" game.
very challanging. Beautiful scenery throughout the entire course. Try to select a day when the winds are going to be down. Beautiful views of Ocean City, Md. Top shelf course.
