About
Located just minutes from the beach, the conveniently situated Clearwater Country Club sprawls across a coastal landscape of Spanish moss-draped trees and towering, mature oaks. Stevenson Creek meanders through the golf course, coming into play on six holes. Built in 1920, the layout has a traditional design that is challenging but fair. The course is tight but it plays long, especially on the par 5s. The rolling fairways are well manicured and the greens play at medium speed and are consistently well maintained. Clearwater C.C. actually has a reputation amongst locals for its superb conditions. It is also popular with visitors, snowbirds specifically, since the club offers the area's only seasonal and short-season membership with exclusive privileges. It is also one of the few clubs in the area that allows walking.

Slow play
The course is generally not in great shape but it's not the worst either. Tee times are overbooked. A group of 7 were ahead of us, making our round over 5 hours long. This is unacceptable.
Just bad
From start to finish. It wasn’t a good experience. I arrived 15 minutes before my tee time. The starter was flabbergasted. Guy looked like his head was going to explode. I was told to go straight to the tee box. There were two groups in front of me on the tee box. Waited 25 minutes to tee off….. took 5 hours to finish. No rangers. Can’t believe people pay for memberships here.
Very slow play
We had a 2 PM tee time, but did not get out until 2:40 or so. Extremely slow pace of play and we were only able to get in 16.5 holes before a staff person came by and told us we had to get off the course. My friend was on the green and he was not allowed to putt out. The course has a number of holes that run next to a street so stray shots must be a menace for people living around the course. An upside was that John Daly was making the turn before we got started.
2nd time playing the course as we played it last year
we had a 1:45 tee time and they were running about 30 to 40 minutes late. didn't have enough carts to go around. we like the course and would play it again. greens really fast and challenging
Slow
Good day only thing when you call for tee time they should tell there was a big tournament and play was going to be backed up by 30 minutes and you have to wait for a golf cart
No carts avsilable
Teed off at 2:15 but had to wait half for a cart. Didn't get to finish our 18 holes before it got dark at 6ish. Very busy but good course. Somewhat challenging for a newbie.
Vacationing mid handicap player from CT
Enjoyed the course despite the cool 50 degree weather. Greens were faster than what I am used to in CT. Will definitely play here again when I’m in the area.
Pace of Play
The course was in OK shape but the layout was somewhat hazardous the way some tees and greens are located. The pace of play was terrible. Will not be playing this course again.

Played a little slow but we didn’t mind, the younger players did but it’s what it is.
