About
Located just minutes from the beach, the conveniently situated Clearwater Country Club sprawls across a coastal landscape of Spanish moss-draped trees and towering, mature oaks. Stevenson Creek meanders through the golf course, coming into play on six holes. Built in 1920, the layout has a traditional design that is challenging but fair. The course is tight but it plays long, especially on the par 5s. The rolling fairways are well manicured and the greens play at medium speed and are consistently well maintained. Clearwater C.C. actually has a reputation amongst locals for its superb conditions. It is also popular with visitors, snowbirds specifically, since the club offers the area's only seasonal and short-season membership with exclusive privileges. It is also one of the few clubs in the area that allows walking.

Back again.
returned after a few years. Course was in GREAT shape!! The grounds crew was in the process of sodding the tee boxes in preparation for next season. Their work keeps the place wonderful. Only real drawback is that most of the holes are pretty straight. But the tee boxes, fairways and greens were in tip top shape.
1st time back in over a year
I have played the course many times in the past but after moving to St. Pete it has been over a year. The fairways are in pretty rough shape but it seems to be under repair in some areas. Greens are good and in good shape. Met up with another Gentlemen about half way through and we played 18 in just over three hours. Very slow on the course and that was a bonus. I love the layout and will be back.
Good course and great value
Course was in good shape, especially the greens. Only comment, they had a few holes where tees were moved up into fairway making the holes considerably shorter. Not sure if they were working on the tee boxes?

Course is great to play not crowded play at your own pace. Greens are really good

Very forgiving but fun and challenging. Was very happy with the course.
Pace of play was problematic (slow)
Started our round right on time. However, after the 3rd hole everything came to a grinding holt. From the 4th through the 9th hole there were two groups waiting to tee off on every hole. Other than slow play in front of us we had no idea what was causing the hold up. The back 9 started off a little better as one or more groups only played 9. However, the pace reverted to more of what we experienced on the front 9 By the 15th hole, with no improvement with the pace, we called it a day and returned to the club house. The condition of the course was ok for the most part. Some of the tee boxes were a bit sparse. That aside, I would play this course again and hope for a better experience with the pace of play.
Worth your time
Course conditions are not five-star, but neither is the price.
We (me and two others) played in just over three hours. A big plus.
Greens are inconsistent. One is fast and the next is slow.
Not a plus.
Overall, this course is worth playing at the $40-$50 rate.
