Chi Chi Rodriguez Golf Club
About
The Chi Chi Rodriguez Golf Club, centrally located on McMullen Booth Road a comparably short course, offering just 5,454 yards from the blue tees and a slope rating of 118. Most of the fairways are wide, making errant shots still playable. In essence, it is the ideal place to work on your golf game, to correct that nasty slice or learn to hit that oversized driver without fear of losing 100 balls. As a result, it is a favorite among novice golfers who want to be challenged but also have an enjoyable round.

Decent track
Greens were very quick. Pin placements on several holes were extremely difficult. Typical Florida conditions: lots of bare areas in fairways;; tight lies, we did lots of bump and run. Starter was friendly. Layout is a good challenge from the whites. I’d play here again. Got a deal on GolfNow. $50 w/cart at noon weekday.
Continued Spring Training
1st time playing this course. Will return. Thanks to GolfNow for bringing the cost down. Even being a short yardage course, you still have to hit a good shot. Greens are fast but playable.
Greens
Do not get me wrong l like fast greens but your greens are to fast.
Johnny Legit
The course was not in super great shape and the greens were super fast and Sandy, but the layout was good and I had a good time
Lovely Course
We loved it. Close, and it offered a great day on the linkx.
Not worth $75
Course was nice for winter in Fla. But a lot of sand in tee box and fairways. A lot of doglegs that you don’t know where to put your 1st shot. If the course was cheaper it would be worth it.
Nice but not worth the money
Course was nice but nothing special. Fairways, greens & tee boxes green but also sandy. Greens were mounded and fast, balls easily rolled off. Many holes were dog legged without site for second shot. There was a lot of wildlife cranes, turtles and small gators which was nice. If course was $20 less it would be worth paying for the Chi Chi brand.
Underwhelming
It was neat but not really worth the 45 minute drive for me. Good conditions, tight fairways and incredibly fast and tough greens.
Short and sweet
Long ballers keep your driver in the bag. This course forces you to find fairways. The greens were in excellent condition, the best of the courses I played this week. Always enjoy a game at chi chi's. I great warmup to a weeks golf vacation.
Greens were ridiculous
Greens were like slanted billiard tables. Didn’t hold even high approach shots. If you missed a downhill putt the ball would roll forever.
February golf, this canadian is pleased
Chi chi.. nice track, good layout, not long, but shots are required, long baller? No driver required... greens were very true and running at a super pace..I enjoy playing the course.. always a decent test.. fairways are very important.. fairways were firm and could roll for awhile into some nasty Bermuda grass lies.. all in all a decent game. Because the course is on a school property.. no alchohol. Bunkers... too much sand and difficult escapes!!
Course is in very good shape
The course is definitely in better shape than it was last year. I suppose that's what a hurricane will require. I always love this tight course where sometimes I don't use my driver off several of the tee boxes.
The teeing grounds and greens were nice. Although the green speeds didn't always match.
Overall, a very enjoyable round of golf.
Overrated
Course was poorly maintained and facilities were outdated. Only benefit was the friendly staff who moved our twosome ahead of a sixsome. Much better courses in the Tampa/clearwater area.
Good public course
For public courses in this area the conditions are very good. You might look at the card and think it’s short but that doesn’t mean it’s easy.
Plenty of water and weeds to kill your score if you don’t hit ‘em straight,
RIP Sr Rodriguez
