Providence Golf Club

I generally don’t complain about anything but this course was awful. No staff working the bag drop and when we showed up they didn’t have any carts 20min before our tee time. Staff inside pro shop was friendly but starter was rude when asked about the carts and if they had water/ice machine. The lady working in restaurant was also very rude to my wife and told us there was water and ice outside but there was not. You would think a course charging $100 per round would have a water/ice machine but this course did not. It was 90 degrees outside and by the time we reached the water coolers on the 3rd hole there was no water and they just had the triangle cups. Absolute worst part was pace of play though and nobody was doing anything to pick it up. We teed off at 1pm and finished 15 holes in 4hrs and 20min before we had to leave for our dinner reservation but it would have easily been a 5+ hour round. Course conditions were okay at best but can not justify the price with that pace of play. Avoid this course at all costs.

Need a ranger. A group just jumped in front of two groups on no 10 and screwed up the pace on the back nine. Took 2 hours on front and 3 hours on back.

We had an early tee time. Our group tried to hit balls at the range prior until they turned on all the sprinklers and chased us off. Not only did we get soaked but our bags were drenched. The starter had no sense of urgency to get them turned off or even offer an apology after all the scrambling by the golfers at the range. The sprinklers also drenched all the carts as well. On top of the great pre round activities the course wasn’t in the shape that I would have thought based off of the reviews. I will say, that the greens were in great shape and I really liked the layout.

We come down every year to play golf and watch the API. This week we played at Orange County national and Royal St. Cloud before booking providence. This course was by far the worst experience. Let me start by saying the staff inside were very nice and pleasant. The starter however, was Yankee transplant who apparently owns the patent on knowledge. I was spoken down to and given the 3rd degree when trying to check in with him. I’ve played a lot of golf and worked in the golf industry and never had to deal with anyone like this. Again the proshop workers were nice. The starter needs to go back to Jersey. The tee was backed up 8 deep when it was our tee time. These people clearly do not understand how to space tee times. An hour after our tee time we were waiting to tee off on 3. Ive played in groups of 7 people in 3 hours before at a local track and I understand that courses get busy but there is no reason for a pace of play to be over 4 hours. The course conditions I would rate as average for the area so for the price it’s not too bad of a deal. The biggest issue for me came down to the pace of play. I could deal with Yankee Doodle but the pace of play is ridiculous. We left after 9 with a 3 hour front.

Course is very nice. Played with 2 community residents (Kevin & Tammy), great people. Getting in through security was HORRIBLE!!! 20+ cars in line with a 35 minute wait. My tee time was 1:00 and arrived with 3 minutes to spare. Definitely recommend this course. Just be prepared to wait. 5 hour round also.

Enjoyed playing this challenging course with good pace of play.

Will play agin if returning to the area.

Fairway and greens in very good conditions, good layout, some challenge, and a great pleasure to play there.

Started half hr past designated tee time. Five hr round, finished in dark. Waste bunkers full of "holes". Course has no white, yellow or red stake markings. Frustrating day.

Nice course. Price a little high in my opinion. Great staff. Pace of play was good. We were paired with two members who were very pleasant and provided good info on aiming points and hidden course features. They made our round much more enjoyable.
