About
Carved from pine, oak, and magnolia trees, Cypress Lakes Golf Club tumbles through gently hilly terrain, a rare landscape for a Florida course. Formerly known as the Solutia Golf Club, Cypress Lakes is also covered with hundreds of crepe myrtles and blooming azaleas and of course, cypress trees. Water comes into play on a few holes and the trees can prove to be tricky but the challenges of the golf course are balanced with the generous width of the fairways. The course's playability appeals to a variety of different skill levels, especially with four sets of tees available as well. In addition to the course, there are also extensive practice facilities available at Cypress Lakes Golf Club including an all-grass driving range, a practice putting green, and a practice bunker.

Windy but Nice
Despite the windy conditions in the morning, the day turned out very well including the condition of the course. Greens were good to very good and the fairways were good for this time of year. Some tee boxes could be hard to tee into but most all covered in a nice layer of green grass.
Cheap round of golf
We got a Hot deal for really cheap so expectations were low going in. I liked the layout of the course, it’s wide open most holes and hard to go OB. We showed up like 8 mins before our tee time to the box and the starter had let the two some, we were supposed to be paired with, go off two groups ahead, so the pace was terrible. The greens were furry could use some tlc, but was expected with the price. Would come back when the bank account gets low.

Great fun
Got paired up with a very nice couple.
Pace of pace was slow do a foursome in front
Who took too much time between all shots. Had too wait every hole. Course was good despite no rain recently. Greens were in good shape. Couple left after nine. Eventually joined and father and son who were very pleasent.

Busy for a Weekday
It was busier than expected for a weekday. Pretty much solid 4s back-back the entire round, so it lasted a little longer than I wanted. Course condition was above average with some wet spots on the course and greens were a little rough with the mid-week aeration., but enjoyed the round.

Fivesomes
Course was in average shape that probably couldn’t be helped because of lots of rain. My only real complaint is that the course was filled with fivesomes. There were at least 2 marshals but apparently this is the norm for this course. I’m not in favor of any course allowing more than foursomes, it’s not a good look to attract new play. Good old boys taking forever to putt and their Marshall friends just watched.
We apologize for the pace of play issue you experienced. We always try to keep a great pace when having our golfers on the course. Good deal
Course was in. Good shape considering all,the rain recently. Hole 5 was a mess trying to get to the green. 2 greens needed some work but the rest were great.

Decent, fun challenging course
Cypress Lakes was a fine course to play at a lower price point. It is in pretty good condition in terms of fairways and greens, though with recent rains the course itself was very moist/wet.
The best part about the course is the neat water features (lakes/ponds) and the elevation changes. Not at all your typical flat Florida course; this one has very rolling terrain. On at lest two holes there are platforms with stairs so you can see how the course actually runs. That was very different for me.
The staff was VERY nice; and the course was not too crowded. The facilities/clubhouse are very basic and old-timey, but that's okay -- I'm there to play golf and not lounge around the clubhouse.
I would recommend this one as a nice change of pace for folks vacationing on the Gulf Coast.
