Cypress Lakes Golf Club
About
Carved from pine, oak, and magnolia trees, Cypress Lakes Golf Club tumbles through gently hilly terrain, a rare landscape for a Florida course. Formerly known as the Solutia Golf Club, Cypress Lakes is also covered with hundreds of crepe myrtles and blooming azaleas and of course, cypress trees. Water comes into play on a few holes and the trees can prove to be tricky but the challenges of the golf course are balanced with the generous width of the fairways. The course's playability appeals to a variety of different skill levels, especially with four sets of tees available as well. In addition to the course, there are also extensive practice facilities available at Cypress Lakes Golf Club including an all-grass driving range, a practice putting green, and a practice bunker.

Great layout. Hilly, blind shots over hills at 6-7 holes
If you plan on walking, wear good shoes, it'll work your calves out.
A fun course to play.
The course has water, rolling uneven terrain and well placed sand traps. Those features make for interesting play. The greens are a little slower than other area course that we play, but they are in good shape.
Great value!
Course has some nice hills that add some interest. This is something most courses in this area don't have. Course is in good condition and is fun to play.
" A GOOD CHOICE " !
NICE LAYOUT, WELL MAINTAINED, SCENIC VIEWS , WITH A FAIR CHALLENGE. I LIKED THIS COURSE BECAUSE OF IT'S "OLD STYLE" FEELING . LOT'S OF ROLLING HILLS, MATURE TREES, WATER ON MANY HOLES, DOG LEGS, LAY-UPS, AND WELL MAINTAINED GREENS & FAIRWAYS WITH ENOUGH BUNKERS GIVES A SORT OF "RETRO" THROW- BACK ATMOSPHERE ! THIS FACILITY HAS A DRIVING RANGE, PUTT-CHIP & BUNKER PRACTICE AREA. "NO" IT ISN'T THE "MODERN / RESORT - STYLE" FACILITY BUT HAS A NICE PRO SHOP , CONCESSION STAND AND COVERED PATIO THAT SERVE'S THOSE NEED'S "NICELY" ! OH- YEA, "LOT'S OF NICE FOLKS OUT THERE" !!!!
Was a good day of Golf
Coarse is a older one, the greens were in ok condition but some had grass / weed issues. Most looked great but were quite slow. Marshal on staff was quite helpful and a real nice guy. Overall I will play this coarse again,
Great use of available space and terrain.
Course was in good shape considering the heat and lots of rain lately. Fairways excellent and greens good but a bit thick and slow.
Nice well maintained
Our two some played fast Caught up with two separate groups of five. They waved us right on through. 3:15 for a round is fast these days. Course is in very good condition.
Great potential but soggy and poorly maintained.
What a shame. The course layout is fine with rolling hills and wide fairways.
But the greens were some of the slowest and poorest I've ever played.
We did play 18 holes one evening in less than 2 hours. My advice - use the course to practice full shots only.
Good course for different ability levels.
Several challenging holes on course, as well as some that are not real difficult. Most of the greens are somewhat tough to read both speed and break. During wet conditions the course has several very soggy areas in fairways, and on and around greens.
the members are not friendly
Golfing as a onesome you expect to wait a little bit for groups ahead of you but you expect to be able to play through whenever you have caught up to a foursome ahead of you. At cypress lakes a group of 4 members refused to let me play through even after the Marshall instructed to do so. So I picked up my ball and left, shouldn't have to deal with that unfriendliness on a golf course
Enjoyed the day at Cypress Lakes.
My wife and I played Cypress Lakes on Friday, July 26. The course was pretty wet, but the Pensacola area has gotten a whole lot of rain lately so that wasn't their fault. They apologized for the course being wet. Greens putted pretty good. In areas it wasn't wet, the fairways were great...full of bermuda. We thoroughly enjoyed our day and will go back.
4.1 is way too high
Very wet. One would think it would drain better with its elevation changes. Greens too slow and bumpy. Requires some shot making, but I will not return. Not even close to a 4.0 of 5 rating with other courses in the area.
Nice enough to play.....
Course conditions are average. Staff was friendly. Lots of local golfers. Greens were very well kept. Biggest complaint is a lack of attention by staff on the course for actual play. I guess it is a norm there for them to send out 5-somes. There were three different 5-some groups that we saw on the course - two of which we sat behind for the 2:15 back nine we played. The groups obviously played there frequently and had no consideration at all for any other golfers on "their" course. I will avoid this course in the future just b/c of the lack of on-course player management by the staff. There are just too many other, better quality courses in the area for the same price that are managed more effectively.
Well maintained
Great course conditions considering all the rain we have received here in the panhandle lately. The course was busy but players were moving at a good pace. The staff was very friendly!
I found the course to be well maintained and golfer friendly.
The golf course was very nice. Bunkers were a bit hard, but I attrubuted that to all the rain we have had. I enjoyed my round and would recommend it to my friends.
18 took 3 hrs on a Sunday!!
Great pace of play!! Maintained and stress free round of golf.
Nice course, great value.
This course is perfect for the budget conscious golfer. It has a little everything for everyone: defined fairways, undulation, hazards, maintained greens, a practice range, and new carts to boot! Greens are running a little slow (lots of moisture in the past few weeks) and bunkers have pebbles in the sand, but those would be my only complaints. Great value overall.
good greens, friendly staff, great fun!!
This was a very good experience. The course is in very good shape, especially the greens, since most greens in the area have died or burned out.
Good scoring course
Course was in fairly good shape, greens were in real good condition. One of them courses you can score well on, of run up a high number.
Château Élan Stay & Play Golf Package
That is terrible. I would have just skipped a hole and kept playing and then maybe came back and played that hole when I finished.
