Very nice upgrade
Restaurant, clubhouse and course upgrades are very nice, will be back soon.
Going Downhill
We've played this course many times over the past 8 or 9 years and it seems as though with the expense of a new restaurant, bar and pro shop and the lack the frequency of some sno-birds from Canada due to Covid-19 restrictions that revenues are down significantly and consequently the maintenance of a few greens and many of the tee boxes and fairways has slacked off considerably. In fact on many more than a few tee boxes and fairways there are areas that have no grass. and unfortunately it seems to be getting worse each time we visit.
Good course layout & lots of wildlife big gators. Staff good..except golf cart guy was rude
Good course good staff except the golf cart guy was rude. Played alone because the other 2 & 3 somes didn't want to play with an immigrant looking guy with a Dustin Johnson like beard & driving distance, lol...figure that.
EXTRA CHARGE FOR SEPARATE CART
THIS COURSE CHARGES $10 EXTRA IF YOU WANT TO DRIVE IN A SEPARATE CART WITH YOUR PARTNER. DURING THIS PANDEMIC, ALL THE OTHER COURSES IN FLORIDA ALLOW EACH PLAYER TO HAVE THEIR OWN CART AT NO EXTRA COST. I WOULD HAVE NOT BOOKED THE COURSE IF THIS WAS KNOW IN ADVANCE.
Hassle at Checkin
Arrived to play my round ans upon Checkin, I was informed it was shared carts unless you paid an additional $10. With COVID spiking again, why in the world are they even considering this policy? As I explained to the desk attendant, this was not stated in the Golf Now information about the course when making my reservation. After some discussion, she relented and gave us keys for two carts.
It was a drizzly and very wet day and the course was still very soft and muddy in many areas. Naturally, we’ve have a lot of rain this fall and after several days of windy dry weather, I was hoping the conditions would have been better!
Fortunately for us, the course was not busy and we had a relaxing round without feeling rushed.
Needs TLC
Some greens and many fairways are in very bad condition, with large patches of non-grass areas. No rangers present and for the first nine holes we played behind a foursome of older ladies who were following a fivesome of older ladies and the pace was agonizingly slow. The back nine was quick and without incident.
Pleasant
A pleasant day
The course has a wide open layout with plenty of water for your miss hits. Indianwood is adjacent to a retirement community and is nice on that level. I’m 68.and can’t play like I used to so this course was nice for us. We started at noon and pace of play was ours. No one in front or behind.
Prejudice
Was refused service. Sat down at the bar to purchase beer. Was told I need a mask. No one else had one on sitting down. I told the service attendant no one else has a mask on. Ordinance is sitting down you don't need one. I was a bit angry and rude after, but I am half American Indian in a mostly mix of white and Hispanics. I felt uncomfortable. I won't be going back. I will tell all my golf buddies. I am a retired 36 Veteran with the Army. This Isnt how this could have went. I do like the course but it is what it is!
Sending it
The course is great for the money. They are reseeding it so don't judge based on that alone it will be in AMAZING condition this winter
Great layout
Greens acceptable. Course needs a little reseeding. But still fun..
bad timing
as I have played the course several times under excellent conditions, it seems they may be getting ready for some reseeding, as much areas were cut really short nearly done to dirt, even around the greens . getting consistent shots was tough. some tee boxes were not clean for same reasons, but greens were in good shape. Such info was not available when booked, but we like the course and will surely play their again, once conditions are back to normal .....
Disappointed
Always enjoyed this course in the past. It has been severely neglected. I guess these times have taken its toll on the place. It is simply run down. Wont go back until i hear its back to normal
