Visually intimidating but playable
This was my first time playing at Solivita and I thoroughly enjoyed it. The Cypress Course was very playable but has hazards and/or OB on every whole. Fairways were plush and greens were maintained and rolled nicely. The course helped to make it a very nice and relaxing day out with the fellas.
great course
Enjoyed very much hope to play again. Worth the drive.
Great Course
Great course friendly people and overall a great experience
Beautiful facility
We always enjoy playing this course. Challenging but not intimidating.
Great course with excellant greens
very happy about the price. got a good deal on golfnow. course in excellent condition with the greens running fast and true. wiil play again
Fun course
Greens approx 90% healed from aeration 4-5 weeks ago. Fairways,T-boxes, bunkers are in better shape than most courses in the this area & price range.
stonegate Oaks Course
The staff was awesome, loved the look of the course. Keep it in the fairway.
Good course
Course is almost back to perfect, greens in good shape as are fairways.
Two courses, community based
Played Cypress course which is a good test for mid range handicappers. Plenty of water hazards and bunkers requiring careful club selection. Although on a community through homes do no detract or impede on the course.
A lovely course
CYPRESS COURSE
The course was excellent in very good condition
Our game was spoilt by the group in front, they had 3 golf bags but 4 people playing. You could see who hadn't paid or played before.
They made our game very slow, and at one point I could see up the fairway , one of the people being given a golf lesson on the way to swing.
it really needed a Marshall out on the course not just a starter at the beginning it really spoilt our game on a lovely course.
Good Course
The course was in good condition. It does need some work. Some of the green side bunkers need to have the sand turned over as it was like hitting out of concrete. A few of the greens need some work as they have bad patches in them. The pins were located away from the bad spots, but still needs to be repaired. The bad thing about this course is that it is not marked very well for distance. There are no poles in the fairway to let you know where 150 yard are. They have stone markers in the ground, but are hard to see.
Not the fun kind of challenge
The course is situated in a semi-private community, the facilities are nice, there is a driving range in a lake, which works just fine, and the staff is friendly and welcoming.
Unfortunately, the fun stops there; this course is narrow, punishing and poorly indicated. We were playing with a couple that had recently moved there and even with their help we weren't always sure exactly where to hit, or whether our ball was safe. Lots of blindshot doglegs, with sand traps, lakes/ponds and OB everywhere, on nearly every hole. A gps and/or distance guides are severely needed yet unavailable. I don't mind a little challenge, but not when it's mostly guesswork as is the case here.
I have no idea on the "quality" of food and drinks, but the big issue is availability; there is no on-course beverage/snack cart and no 9 and a half. So bring your own snacks and drinks, I guess.
With so many good course options in the area, this one is just not worth it.
Great Shape
Cypress course in very good shape right now. ....8 out of 10 stars.
The Oaks course was challenging.
I enjoyed playing the course, the fairways was excellent. The greens had some rough spots. I would recommend this course to all my friends. Joe Boasi
a good course
I thought the coursw was better than the Oaks but my wife enjoyed the Oaks more - so take your pick. Course in good nick with the greens certainly better than the Oaks. Nice variation of trees, water, doglegs some shorter but some longer holes. All in all a good days golf. I play off 8 and wife off 21 and we both enjoyed it.
Great Course
Incredibly accommodating !!
Great course will play again
You do need a cart on this one
Greens need some TLC
Need long drives with ball & cart
Front nine very challenging after 3d hole .... doglegs, tight & undulating small greens. Back nine more often ... water carries & placement of drive important.
Can't remember which hole but one on front nine needed 3 blind shots .... dogleg right almost made it a circle.
Tough if playing first time.
Very long drives with cart between holes.
Good condition & would try again.
Greens need some love
This is a nice course. Staff was helpful and friendly. On the day we played, pace was fine. We would like to note the following issues though: lack of holes maps on the score cards, no layout of the holes at tee off boxes, no poles at the 150ft...so, unless you are a member, you will not know where you should aim...everybody is complaining about slow play, yet there is very little done to equip players with the course knowledge or layout...staff mentioned that the yard ages are shown on the concrete path...when you Are in the middle of the fairway, who will go back to the concrete path to check the yardage...also shown on the sprinkler heads...you must first find one of them and hope that this specific one has yardage shown...how much does it cost to install a plastic pole in the fairway...10$ each....
The biggest issue with this course is that it is relatively expensive...yet the several greens are in poor shape...for the beginner, it could mean help as it might a good idea to just take a two putts and take off...however, for the low handicapper, this will be an issue...
Too bad, this is a nice place, and we would still recommend it.
Find another place to play
This was the 5th course I played in 5 days in Orlando and it was by far the worst of all. The greens were shaggy and slow and the fairways were weedy. This course needs some maintenance. It was interesting to see gators on 3 holes.
