good course
great track to play, a bit stuffy as it is in a private retirement community!
really neat area to visit
Oaks course is challenging especially from the blue tees
Great course, excellent condition, good to great speed on the greens. Well worth the time and nominal expense.
This golf community continues to impress
A few weeks ago, I posted a review of Stonegate off my first visit after winning a golf package in a charity auction rasing money for the United Way. That review was after I played the Cypress course and I was very impressed. This time, I played the Oaks course and was even more impressed. Honestly, just the cart ride up to the first tee told me this was going to be an enjoyable round of golf. It is a beautiful Par 5 and the hole, as the rest of the fairways on the course, was in magnificent condition. One difference between Oaks and Cypress was that I found myself pulling 3 metal on more tees on Oaks either due to the length of the hole or to hit the safer shot and avoid hazards. This was my second afternoon visit to Stonegate and the majority of the members were done playing for the day, leaving a very fast pace of play. Oaks also is less spread out on the Solivita property than the Cypress course, which actually requires a gate code to play an 18th hole that is very isolated. I really love this property and highly recommend it to the summer afternoon player who wants to get in a quality round in about three hours.
Most Enjoyable
Had a most enjoyable afternoon at the 'Oaks' course. The tees, fairways and greens were all in excellent condition and the course was visually stunning and a decent degree of difficulty to make you concentrate. This seems to be part of a retired persons complex and they are lucky old golfers to have this on their doorstep. We ate here as well and the food and coffee were very good. This course will be top of my list on a return visit.
OUTSTANDING
Great course in excellent condition. This is a wonderful layout, the greens are tough to read but run true. I don't think I saw a weed on the greens or fairways. Hat off to the grounds keepers and a very well done.
well manicured
Thought i'd died and gone to heaven .Fantastic set up real friendly community went there with seven others had a drink in bar afterwards could'nt be more helpful. First place i would consider buying if it was in my price range ?
THIS is how you operate a golf community
Recently, I attended a huge fundraiser for the United Way at Epcot. This was a formal event and raised almost $300,000. Part of that money came from a fine silent auction, which featured a wide variety of attractive items. There were many golf packages, but no property offered more items for charity than Stonegate. This alone told me that Stonegate was a place I would like to play and I was fortunate to be one of the winning bidders. On my initial visit, I found the fairways to be the best I have played in the last three months. And it isn't even close. They were absolutely gorgeous! Oh, I also played 18 holes in under 2 1/2 hours and the overall relaxed and friendly vibe of the employees/local residents is palpable. I'd really like to thank Stonegate for its support of the United Way...and am looking forward to coming back to use the rest of my golf package.
Best value near Orlando
I searched long and hard on golfnow.com--and this course is one of, if not the best in the area--or any area--and I live in golfer friendly Naples, and in a very nice golf community.. Fairways were about perfect--greens the same--apporpriately lower. The Fairways were very wide in many areas--I played the same ball for 18 holes--a rarity for me---About a qo min drive from the heart of Orlando--but a nice rise and well worth the teavel.
A challanging course from the far tees. Very good greens, faster than most.
Pro shop personnel could be more friendly.
Other staff are very good when you can find them.
Pracctice facility is above average when locals don't hog a chipping area w3ith 100 balls.
A outstanding golf course and a great value.
This place is better than the reviews. We vacation in the Orlando/Kissimmee area several times a year. This was our first time for Stonegate. The area is like a small "Villages" with golf carts being the main means of transportation. The course was in super condition, fairways like a carpet, the best we have played. Our tee time was noon and we never waited and were never pushed. THE BEST THING..is the restaurant.. Its called the "Grille".. from the cart path it appears to be a beer and burger stop. Inside is a large bar with many locals, the large dining room is separate from the bar and can compete with fine restaurants. A large menu from burgers to Salmon or Filet Mignon. Our outstanding waitress was Ashley..ask to be seated at her table. If you like the value of the golf course you will love the prices at the "Grille".
Overall nice course
Excellent course, super fairways and greens. Not too friendly bunkers.
Best Course I played all week
Played both the Cypress and Oaks course on the same day. Nicest courses we played all week in all aspects, condition, pace, difficulty, etc.. Will play this course every time I am in Orlando.
the course was beautiful and well planned.
the course was in very good condition and was very challenging. the layout of each hole were well conceived and the openess of each hole was excellent. the greens were fast but fair, the bunkers were numerous, but well maintained. the holes were spaced out well and the homes near the course were fairly far away from the playing area.
It was like a good private club experience
Terrific value! Conditions much improved over same time last year
course is great , enjoyed it
Enjoyed the course, had a good time, pristine conditions, good carts, pristine greens. Will play again
great!
Lovely course, terrific weather and great company.
All in, just what golf is all about!

Price on GolfNow a deal. Better than charged residents.
Greens finally coming around. Speed better now than in the past when they were too slow. Overseeding has finally grown in.
Oaks course easy to play. Wide fairways and you shouldnt lose to many balls. Perfect course for over 55 community.
nothing special- an average course not that well kept ! ok for twilight rate - wouldn't pay full price for this course!
starter unfriendly - pace too slow - at times three groups on one hole - instead of a starter there should be rangers on the course to control pace of play.
Very busy on Sundays. Play was extremely slow.
We had played the course before on a week day and really enjoyed the course. It was in excellent condition. Fairways were very good as were the greens. On this particular Sunday, we had a 1:08 tee time. We arrived early hoping to get off early but we were told that no carts were available. Tee off was only a few minutes late and we played the first five holes very quickly. then we ran into a log jam. At one par 3, there were four groups waiting. No ranger on duty and no drink cart.
