Cypress Course at Stonegate Golf Club
About
The Cypress Course is one of two 18-hole, championship courses at Stonegate Golf Club at Solovita. The course has a player-friendly layout with ample fairways and bunkers that are large but generally low lipped. There are some challenges that should not be taken too casually though, including sloped, elevated greens that are heavily guarded and water hazards on fourteen holes. The golf course is known for having scenic par-3 holes that are particularly difficult from the back tees. In addition to the two golf courses, Stonegate Golf Club at Solovita offers practice facilities that include a targeted grass driving range, putting green, and practice bunkers.

Golf is good; tee time management not so!
Had a tee time for 1:30pm & actually tees off at 3:05pm.
The delay was due to a lack of carts needed to accommodate those scheduled to play.
To compensate for our inconvenience we were given a pass for a free round on a later date.
The course was in good condition & the greens true & fast!
We were paired with another couple & had a very enjoyable round!
No range balls
Once we finally got on the course, the round was great.
Organization at the course start was lacking. Short of carts; putting green full, no range balls available prior to starting the round.
Putting the initial frustrations and lack of warm up aside, we teed off at the appointed time, the course was in good shape, the layout pleasing (even though very long (not walkable) distances between some holes).
And the best part, I played well that day, and shot my best round ever.
The gentleman in the pro shop was very pleasant and helpful.
Great course; need more carts
Tee time was for 1:56 told when checked in carts were scarce but when our tee time came one would be waiting. NOT the case. Teed off at 2:30 and right away golfers in front of us (member golfers with own carts). Overall enjoyed the course, lots of water but we avoided it easily. Course offered us 2 free rounds for the wait……what’s not to like?
Meandering Neighborhood Course
The course stretches around the Cypress neighborhood with beautiful open fairways and verdant greens. Water hazards and strategically placed fairway bunkers make for some challenging holes. My main complaint was the travel time between holes with some rides 3-5 minutes. Staff was welcoming, even Ray, the cart jockey actually smiling once.
If you're up for a challenge.
Stonegate Review:
Nice practice facilities. Friendly staff. Tee boxes were in great shape. Some of the greens were rough, but all in all, they were very true, and they held. Some are challenging, they made you putt, speed was everything. Fairways, great shape. Some of the holes took some time to get to. Lots of driving. The layout was pretty cool. You can break out the big stick. The course is going to challenge your game, so you better bring it with you. All in all? For the money, I would play there again.
A Hidden Gem
This was the first time playing the Cypress course and it was a very pleasant surprise how good it was. We will definitely return and play it again
REC
First time playing the course. Course in great condition, the greens held nicely and ran true. Would play the Cypress course again when we're backin the Orlando area.
We Got What We Paid For
First of all the staff was friendly and very informative. Let me start by saying we are average golfers. We played the Cypress course and were informed that the course does not come back to the club house until the 18th hole. I’ve never seen a course laid out like this. 18 holes, no cart girl and only on restroom on the course. The course layout is odd. There is a very long distance between some hole - about a 5 minute cart ride. Be prepared for a lot of doglegs. Parts of the course are wide open, others very narrow. Fairway and bunkers were in ok condition. Green in very poor condition was a lot bare spots and extremely slow. On some holes the rough is very narrow, miss the short rough and your ball is lost. We were warned that the one vending machine we saw on the course was run by Pepsi and may or may not be working - it was empty. No GPS on the cart which were not in the best of condition but did get us around the course. We played on a Saturday afternoon and only saw one other group. Was it worth the $33 we spent - yeah. Would I recommend or play this course again - no.
