We loved this course best staff customer service ever
It was rainy and windy when we played we’re gonna go home But my wife and I decided to stay and play in the rain. The staff was so friendly that they brought us rain jackets to plan in so we would keep warm and dry. Luckily the rain didn’t last long and the sun came out. They told us it was a newly designed course. They did an amazing job. I will definitely come back here and play again. The course was great and the staff was better. I highly recommend you come here and play.
Nice course to play.
Greens were fast but consistent and in good shape. Fairways were not very good, Lots of bare areas and tight lies because of the lack of grass. Tees were good. Course conditions were not as good as earlier in the year. The course is still a nice challenge.
A Hidden Gem
First time playing the course and was impressed overall. It is definitely a shot makers course. Playing from the blue tees there are a couple of tee shots that are questionable. The greens are small but very true and a very nice speed compared to others in the area. There are several fairways on the back that are a little sparse. If you are in the area and want a good but fair test of golf I would highly recommend it. Great value and nice friendly staff.
Deteriorating
Played here several months ago for the first time, after the rehab and a half dozen times since. Great course, however, the fairways have become very rutted on many holes and grass sparse. Still a nice course, but it needs work before it becomes like many others in the area. I realize it's winter but the rutting is becoming worse every time we play there.
Great course
Course is short, but tough. The staff act like they’ve known you for years, make you feel welcome. Courss is in great shape.
Great renovation
First time playing since the recent renovation. Its very well done and a huge improvement over the previous conditions.
Nice upgrade
First time playing Water Oak since their extensive renovation, and we were not disappointed. Beautiful new layout with outstanding conditions all around. Hard to recognize the course from previous years. Larger, super smooth putting greens and well-groomed traps and approach areas. Not long, but a true shot makers course to enjoy. Terrific staff and well spaced out tee times that eliminated waiting or the feeling of being pushed by the group behind us. Water Oak has now evolved into a true gem. Looking forward to playing it again and again.
Unexpected Gem,,,
This course was a real surprise. Driving through the neighborhood leading into the course makes you wonder if you've made a big mistake in booking, but once you get there, what a gem! It's clear they've put money into the course recently, and it shows. Conditions were as good as any course in this area. Greens are faster than they look and really good. Challenging layout due to hilly terrain and some tight, tree lined fairways, so if you aren't a straight hitter you might not have fun. I played the blue tees (6,209 yards, par 70) which provide 5 very healthy par 3's; the last 3 holes (all par 4's) in particular are as challenging as any course you can find. I would definitely play it again but probably would have more fun playing the white tees.
Fun and scenic layout. Course and greens in great condition.
Found this nice jem of a course outside Ocala on our way back from Orlando. It's located in a retirement community and would definitely play multiple times a week if I lived there. Plenty of elevation and water to make your round both fun and challenging. I now understand why others enjoyed the back 9 as it had most of the elevation changes.
Fun first time
Beautiful course, well maintained and the greens were in really good shape!!!
Quirky and Challenging
Very fun and quirky layout from the tips. A few more signs would be nice. All n all what a fantastic course for the money. The greens rolled true and at a good pace for still being wet with morning dew. Will be back.
