Nice layout. Interesting holes. Very small greens. Need to be very accurate off the tee and into the greens. Coming back from flooding this summer. 1 temp green. Overall a good value for the money. Elevation changes are the challenge. Overall a good experience.
Always Fun
One temporary green but the other 17 greens were in good shape. Fairways were a little thin and the course is still recovering from flooding this summer. They were pumping water out today. Yet overall in fairly good shape. We always enjoy the hills--especially holes 10, 11, and 12.
I saw much improvement
I was at this course a little over a year ago and did not plan on returning. After giving it another chance, I saw a much-improved course and will return again.
course not up to parr
i have played this course in the past and it was not in very good condition this time. lots of dirt and sand area's near all the greens, some greens felt like i was walking on marsh land they were so wet.over all conditions poor..
Fun golf course
One of the hilliest courses in Florida with lots of blind tee shots, Straight hitters will love it. Some of the tee boxes need to be seeded but the over all course conditions are very good. The staff is very efficient and friendly and the covered patio eating area beside the pro shop is fantastic.A challenging test of golf but fun for all levels of golfers.
Water and lots a oaks
Check in was pleasant and quick and got Us to tee off in time.
First time playing this coarse and it is challenging. There are large oak tree surrounding each hole that flow into water; what fun. Most of the greens are crowned so that means the chip and run is almost out of question. Yes I will play this coarse again.
Nice layout
Fairways were great, greens were nice, but the roughs need some work. Staff was great. The pace of play was a little slow on the front nine. Need to check the distances from the tees.
Fun day on an interesting layout
Lucky for us, the course is well marked so you know where to go to the next hole. Due to some large slopes on the property, the holes are all over the place, and many are very close together. Easy to imagine people getting hit here with wayward shots. The green are mostly small, perfectly round, and in good condition. The few traps are almost never in play. However, there are several interesting holes which require accurate shotmaking and carries over water. No two holes alike which makes for an interesting layout. Fairways and tees in decent shape for this time of year.
Great Hot Deal!
This course is definitely worth playing. Nice elevation changes that test your club selection. Fairly short course(full size though)with a few tiny greens that make it play tougher than the yardage would suggest. Need to be accurate with your approach shots. Honestly, accuracy is the name of the game on this course.
First timer
From the whites the distances were in my wheelhouse tee boxes and greens in good shape. Tree lined narrow fairways made you keep your drives in the middle else they punished you with extra strokes. Nice elevation changes for Florida that weren’t artificial like the Villages. Price was great for winter season 30% cheaper then Village course. Front 9 several of the fairways were very close I didn’t hear as many 4’s as I thought would happen. Number 10 is a longer par 5 with the 3rd shot a long carry over water quite a challenge. It got the better of me so I will definitely be back to give it another shot. Overall was fun an$ woul$ recommend.
Nope
No driving range or even warmup nets. Course has many fairways that are WAY too close together 0 "Fore" is the key word here. Lots of bare spots. Cart paths seem to serve multiple holes so there are carts going 2 ways. In fairness, greens are good - although they were newlly aerated so this wasn't the best timing. There'snothing between the white tees at 5704 and the senior at 4758, so I didn't enjoy hitting fairway woods and hybrids every hole. No short par 3s at all. Just didn't enjoy.
Water Oak 03/30/2019
Played Water Oak for the second time when conditions were dryer. The fairways ran like crazy so you got some extra distance on your irons. The greens were in great shape and ran true.
My only complaint was that the course is not marked well so it was easy to get lost between holes.
Good round
Greens are small but were in good shape and consistent fairways are narrow but have enough grass so you can gat a club on the ball
Great course for the money
Water Oak is a great value course. The putting greens are fantastic for the volume of play. They are small putting greens which tightens up the iron play. The back 9 is a superb layout with 2 long water carries and good elevation changes. For the money, this is excellent value.
Well laid out course, excellent fairways
Played for the first time and really enjoyed the course. Good price, pro shop staff friendly. Fairways are in excellent shape and the greens were well kept and moderately fast. The underbrush has been cleared away in the edge of the fairways and easy to locate an errant shot. There are several tee or fairway shots over water, so confidence with 150-170 yards needed. The only concern was pace of play, which was quite slow. However, two slower groups readily offered a chance to play through. Course is part of a residential-upgraded mobile home community, and anticipate that many golfers are local seniors, so play is a slower. Still worth the trip.
Nice elevation changes
We golf this course periodically. This year it has been in pretty good shape. The fairways are great. The roughs are rough, sometimes bare ground. The greens are small but in good shape. There are some great elevation changes. And some challenging holes. We like it.
sorry that this is not a golf course it's a goat ranch. so poorly maintain[that is a under statement ]. between the poor tee boxes for senior, and the goose grass that is ever where make the course a joke.save your money stay home.
