Pretty Good Shape
This was the first time that we were back to this course in the last 2 months. They have done a good job considering how much rain and flooding this course had this summer. It is a good challenge from either the white or back tees. Small greens. Lots of big oak trees and some shots over water. The layout is too tight the first three holes, but I really like back 9 holes. Some nice elevation changes. We'll be back.
Very Hot Day
Could only play first six holes and last 3 holes because of course conditions. And were able to play those same 9 holes twice for our 18 hole round. By second round we got better and improved and almost got hole in one on a par 3.
Will be back again soon and hope to play the ones we did not get to play.
Nice little course.
This course is challenging enough. The staff is always very friendly. They keep the greens and tee boxes in very good shape. The fairways could be improved but the overall value is very good.
Just Like Lady Lakes
I feel sorry for the residents who have to play this course exclusively to justify their cost for living there or whatever. The greens are, I think, better than any greens in The Villages and the tee boxes are great....that said, everything else is terrible just like La** La*** Lin**. The restaurant was very pleasing with great food and everyone was super friendly but I will never go there for golf again.
Another Hot Day
Got a 11:12 tee time just in time for the heat to be on.
All went good though with shade every once in a while. Overall nice day with some challenging par 3 holes. Will come back again some day when they have deals like this one.

Staff went beyond expectations
The layout is a little confusing but I'm sure when we go back we will have no trouble remembering which way to go. The greens were mostly fast and the only wetness we had was once it started raining on us. Thoroughly enjoyed the course and can't wait to go back.
Pretty disappointed
Although the course has had exceptional rain to deal with mostly to course seemed unkempt. Also, it was not revealed before booking that the whole back nine was closed. Several greens were in terrible condition, one was about 50% sand!
Be careful before booking Water Oak online. Steve B.
Doing some good things
This course has been up and down through the years. Lately, it has been in good shape. The greens are good, but small. The fairways have always been a bit thin but they have put in effort to remove some of the big oak trees, to let more light into the fairways, and it is having positive results. We like the hills--some nice up and down fairways. Holes 1, 2 and 3 are a bit close together. Overall, it is a challenging course.
The course needs work on the grass. It is pretty spotty. They have airated, but need more grass growing.
Enjoyable
Course was in fine condition with a lot of clean up work going on but fairways and roughs were short and manageable, I had an enjoyable round.
A Must Do Experience
Navigating the course is tricky for first timers. The course is narrow with lots of elevation changes and of course, water! Frequently you have players on fairways that come toward you so you must remain vigilant to errant shots.
Simple layout
Very simple and fairly short course very small greens exceptionally small greens designed for retirees which I’m guessing it is fine for
fun for the first time
Course was in very good shape, grass on the fairways and greens were fast enough. The layout is not that interesting - just back and forth, but some of the holes were tricky. I liked number 10, had to tee off then lay up before hitting across the lake to the green - all carry!!! Some elevation changes to keep you honest, some somewhat tight fairways, just had to place your shots.
The course was very crowded and had to wait, some of the par 4s you could not tee off when the other group was on the green - might into them.
Had a fun time even with the round being over 4 and a half hours.
