Great par 3 course
Everything went as good as could be.everyone moved isn’t along. All workers stop when you got near them. They were always keeping the course looking good for our game. I call it a par 3 course but they have some challenging par 4’ & 5’s out there too.
We played this course three days in a row. Pins were set in the same position each day. With all the traffic this course sees, due to it's proximity to The Villages, this leads to a lot of imperfections around the cups.
Course is OK if you go in with low enough expectations. Fairways are very thin, tight lies everywhere. Rough is no better, just more weeds. Greens are a mix of green and brown, almost impossible to putt.
I wouldn't pay more than $16/round to play here, but it's OK for that price, for us.
Well taken care of.
I liked the layout, though a few holes run too close together. Greens were dry and fast today.
The Lakes Golf Course
Course was challenging with some water and we’ll placed sand traps. My wife, who is a beginner, liked the par 3 holes. Greens were starting to burn out and needed to be watered. For the price and the experience of playing on an 18 hole course with no pressure of being pushed for my beginner wife it was a good price.
Better than you think!!!
Even though I have played there before, I feel it necessary to comment on the course and it’s conditions. First, I like the layout I had to think my way around the golf course. The greens are small and undulated, so I had to be precise with my shots into the greens. The greens are also a little speedy. So putts can get away from ya!
The fairways are fairly tight so there’s a premium on my driving also, the hazards are well placed throughout the course! The staff are friendly and accommodating! In conclusion, I think it’s a great place to play and I will play there often.
I won’t take your Wells Fargo debit card
The course is average. Layout is nice and the greens were decent. However when I present a MAJOR BANK DEBIT CARD for a $1.20 purchase you best take it. I don’t care if Wells Fargo’s fees cost you money or any other card company. Not my problem. You either take cards or don’t take cards. You will not force me into a $5 minimum purchase. Now I’m forced not to play your course again. See how this works?
NICE PLEASANT GOLF COURSE
The Lakes GC is a nice course that in good condition this time of year, Weather was sunny with clouds which make for a good round of golf. Greens were in good shape and the fairways were reasonable, Nice shorter golf course for the average player
Much improved compared to the last time
Under new management. An effort seems to be taking place to improve the conditions of the course. Last time I played (several months ago) the course was in extremely poor shape. Executive length, but long enough to make things interesting. Layout offers some creative shotmaking. At this price, you won't find a better value in the dead of a Florida Winter high season.
ANNUAL
I play it every year for the last 9 years and it is the best it has ever been now. The new owners are spending some money but still needs lots of work.
Pace of play
We enjoyed playing the course today but the play was slow. There were a lot of singles and twosomes which might have been better if they were put together in threesomes or foursomes. The course was in good shape and we enjoyed the day.
Low cost but good value
Interesting par 63 course. Low cost = fairly good value but poor conditions on many tees, cart paths, some fairways and a couple of greens.
Improved conditions since last year. Nice green. Could use work on cart paths.
Nice little course. Fun.
Played here because my sisters were visiting and wanted a short course that was easy for them. There were a few forced carries over water but overall enjoyed the day. Has 1 par 5, 7 par 4's, and 10 3's. Fairways and greens were overseeded and in good shape, especially for the price paid. Will try to convince my buddies to give it a try.
What a cry baby, this is why I never judge a course by online reviews, they are at best bias and at worst like this, the least little thing can cause a bad review and this relates to a business surviving or going under now adays., it’s really sad!
