Links of Sandpiper
About
Links of Sandpiper in Lakeland offers a traditional links layout that sprawls across rolling terrain. The course is player friendly enough for players of all skill levels to enjoy but it has enough challenges for more advanced players as well. The course is anything but flat, and the ups and downs are the most challenging element you'll encounter. The small, undulating greens and narrow landing areas off of the fairways demand accuracy. Combined with elevation changes and strategically placed bunkers, proper club selection and course management also play important roles. Picking the right lines from the tees into the greens requires careful thought. You'll face a few blind shots thanks to the rolling terrain and there are also several bunkers strategically placed along the greensides. Links of Sandpiper's final four holes are the toughest stretch.

Condition and layout poor
The Fairway condition was poor. Very little grass. It looked like it had not been watered which may have been the issue since there had not been much rain recently. The front nine greens were in poor condition the back nine were much better. Of course has a number of holes where you're teeing off right next to the green which is a little disconcerting when people are hitting into the green. I haven't played many links courses so that may have been the issue.
Good course
We like playing here. Pace was good. Course is in good condition.
Pace of play sucks!
A ranger is needed when a twosome drops 4 holes behind foresomes and act like it is ok!!!
No course management
Course was in okay shape. No one to manage pace. Took three hours to play front 9 because of one foursome. Green fees weren’t far off from much nicer courses. No beverage cart on course at all. Overall not a good value for the price. Used to be a pretty good course.
Would rather drive the extra 10 mins and play a different course
Blind shots
Really disappointed in the course as the greens were lovely and the fairways firm even after all the rain the day before!
To many blind tee shots with water hazards ! The first time I've played here so some guidance via a course guide book or the outline of the holes easier to see on the score card would of been ideal!
So because of that I will not be going back ! The club is to cheap to offer course guide books like so many others now a days ! Lay up on the tee shots !!
Back 9 challenges
Checked in at pro shop and staff member actually took us out to meet the people we were paired with. Nice touch. We enjoyed the front nine...good mix of holes and pace of play was great. Back nine had lots of water and tricky holes. When you tee off on 14, there is actually a green behind you that golfers are approaching. A little crazy! Still had a great time..don't worry much about score..just enjoy being out and met great people too! Stopped at the Ford Garage in Lakeland...highly recommend!!
Nice course
I always enjoy playing here. Staff is always very friendly and the course is in good shape.
Always enjoy this course
Fun course, with some holes I still don’t know how to play. Well maintained and a great alternative from more expensive and lesser courses near Orlando.
Great course in great community
This is our go to course in North Lakeland. Some very interesting holes that require a few attempts before getting it close to right👍
Nice housing development course that has seen better days
Greens were good and fast. Bunkers good shape and fairways ok. Lots of play so expect a 4-1/2 to 5 hour round. No driving range.
Good value for the money
Course was in good shape, challenging holes and some you could make up on scoring, downfall is with tee times for all golfers and pairing up when necessary there was no Marshall or starter to keep things moving at a respectful pace.
2 nines like night and day
front nine straight forward fairly nice layout. Back nine multiple carryovers not really obvious first time. Definitely more difficult but playable.
Fun again..
Busy day, so the pace was a little slow. Fast greens so this is a fun course to play.
Pleasant Surprise
Been about 10 to 12 years since we played the course.
We could not believe the course a facilities improvements....
Somebody spent a lot of money here but should get a good return!
We will be back.
