Links of Sandpiper
About
Links of Sandpiper in Lakeland offers a traditional links layout that sprawls across rolling terrain. The course is player friendly enough for players of all skill levels to enjoy but it has enough challenges for more advanced players as well. The course is anything but flat, and the ups and downs are the most challenging element you'll encounter. The small, undulating greens and narrow landing areas off of the fairways demand accuracy. Combined with elevation changes and strategically placed bunkers, proper club selection and course management also play important roles. Picking the right lines from the tees into the greens requires careful thought. You'll face a few blind shots thanks to the rolling terrain and there are also several bunkers strategically placed along the greensides. Links of Sandpiper's final four holes are the toughest stretch.

Simply a bad course
Very disappointed in the condition this course was in. If you’re ok with slapping the ball around and scoring is not an issue, this is your course and you’ll enjoy your time here. There are better courses in the area that are in this price range.
Sandpiper.
A slightly shorter course, but don’t be fooled. It has hidden challenges that make a round interesting. Considering the local weather has been dry and cold the fairways were a little drier than expected with the greens being smooth and fast. Fun round.
Bad shape
This course has not been cared for lately. Fairways have no grass and even greens are not kept and watered. It is a shame because this could be a very nice course with a nice layout and fair challenges.
Having a ranger on the course is key to maintain pace of very slow golfers, especially leagues that are hitting off the front tees and taking 17 minutes to get to the green. This is the reason for the star rating.
Not much grass
Course pretty tough even for the winter time. 5 hr round waited on every shot. Tee times to close together. Better courses in the area for about same price
Fun course for the average player
I've played hear many times before and really enjoy the course. I hate they only have a net for a practice area and tiny putting area but the course have a good mix of easy to difficult holes to keep things interesting. This day was extremely crowded because the very cold temps on the morning of it was sub 40 degrees and the early morning tournament was delayed. By the time my tee time came around it was warm and perfect for a round but we were backed up until like the 16th hole. The condition of the fairways and tee boxes was good hut the greens were unconventionally fast and impossible to read the grain. It was like they were felt and not grass at all. Still, I enjoyed it and only lost one ball.
Below average
Very slow play. Waited after every shot. Course owner allowed course regulars to squeeze in 2-3 tee times although they had cancelled earlier in the week and showed up to play anyway because the weather was nice causing extreme delays from teeoff throughout the entire day.
Greens we're dry and fast which was good. Was difficult to differentiate the fairways from the rough. All water hazards were about dried up.
Sand traps were reasonably well kept.
1 star
They should manage tee slots better to improve pace of play, conditions of fairways and cart paths are horrible. Bunkers and water hazards are terrible. Greens were decent.
Decent Course
Good little course for getting out and having a hit. The back nine is harder than the front 9, with the greens playing pretty fast and smooth at this time of year.
This course is different from others in the area
The course is in good shape tee to green. Greens are running a little fast, but true. The traps have new sand. Fairways are by no means flat. I'll be going back.
Old time
Greens were pretty good just a little slow , fairways pretty bad not much grass a lot of weed and bad lies tee boxes small so very torn up
Signage
Struggled to find the 10th tee from the 9th
Greens where good a bit tatty in places
Food was good great staff
