About
Links of Sandpiper in Lakeland offers a traditional links layout that sprawls across rolling terrain. The course is player friendly enough for players of all skill levels to enjoy but it has enough challenges for more advanced players as well. The course is anything but flat, and the ups and downs are the most challenging element you'll encounter. The small, undulating greens and narrow landing areas off of the fairways demand accuracy. Combined with elevation changes and strategically placed bunkers, proper club selection and course management also play important roles. Picking the right lines from the tees into the greens requires careful thought. You'll face a few blind shots thanks to the rolling terrain and there are also several bunkers strategically placed along the greensides. Links of Sandpiper's final four holes are the toughest stretch.

They should manage tee slots better to improve pace of play, conditions of fairways and cart paths are horrible. Bunkers and water hazards are terrible. Greens were decent.
Decent Course
Good little course for getting out and having a hit. The back nine is harder than the front 9, with the greens playing pretty fast and smooth at this time of year.
This course is different from others in the area
The course is in good shape tee to green. Greens are running a little fast, but true. The traps have new sand. Fairways are by no means flat. I'll be going back.
Old time
Greens were pretty good just a little slow , fairways pretty bad not much grass a lot of weed and bad lies tee boxes small so very torn up
Signage
Struggled to find the 10th tee from the 9th
Greens where good a bit tatty in places
Food was good great staff
Good price for this course. The course is in good shape and is challenging, but fun.
Great Course!
One hole is a lil too close to the highway in my opinion, no bathrooms we saw, no cart girl, some minor construction around the course and difficult to see all the signs; but even with all that, wonderful course and pristine greens! Will be back!
Always a great time
I love Sandpiper, 5 stars because it is a great local course. My only critique is please block out tee times near big scrambles or events. Had a group of 8 tee off right at our time with nobody at the first tee to stagger. I completely understand Sandpiper is a retirement community and members get priority but I’d just appreciate booking out the times they’re playing to avoid this.
Much improved.
Very surprised the greens were fast and smooth because they are usually slow. The last time we played the greens had been burned up from a chemical reaction and it was bad. !00% better this time. Hope they stay fast.
Pace of play was awful
They let about 4 golf carts go out at the same time to the first tee and it held everyone up throughout the entire round. Course was pretty fun to play. For 35$ it’s a good value but I’ve never experienced pace of play this bad before.
