North Golf Course at Big Cypress Golf & Country Club

About
Big Cypress Golf Club is home to two golf courses, the championship South Course and the executive North Course. Located in Lakeland, Big Cypress is situated between Orlando and Tampa. The courses are part of a gated retirement community called Cypress Lakes. The North is less challenging and offers a gentler version of the South that is more approachable to beginners. It is a fairly narrow layout that features tree-lined fairways and strategically placed sand bunkers. Water also has a strong presence on the course, coming into play on a total of 12 holes. The layout is player-friendly and offers several risk-reward opportunities. It is a great for beginners and more advanced players will enjoy it for a quick round or a warm-up for the South Course. In addition to the two golf courses, there is also a driving range and putting green.

First time at this course. Played with my husband. Will definitely come back!!
Nice Course!
This course is nestled in a 55+ community in North Lakeland. Course was in awesome shape. Saw some deer and a bunch of swamp puppies. Greens were fast and a great shape. Attendants were friendly.
The executive course is quite the haul over to the #1 tee, but it makes the course better not playing around a bunch of houses. Would like to see snacks/concessions at the turn, since the restaurant is too far away to hit mid round.
We got unlucky with a 4 some showing up 40 minutes early and trying to hop in front of our time slot. We kept pretty good pace until a 2 some came back to play #10 and hopped in front of us. Then the 4 some hit into us. Didn’t yell 4 or anything. Not the best golf etiquette, but you’ll find people like that anywhere you go.
Amazing course
Truly impressed with the north course fairways and greens I can’t wait to come back and play the south course. Best greens in central fl
Perfect right now
Great conditions, greens little slow. Awesome executive course.
Great little track
Checked in with Mr. Rich in the pro shop, nicest person I've met I think. Course is in good condition, greens are a little sticky but rolled well. Tee boxes are a bit stressed but still very playable. It rained recently so the bunkers were all wet as you can imagine. Lots of nature out here to look at, especially as slow as the pace was on this day. It was a Sunday mid afternoon so we expected it to be slower than usual. All good, we enjoy this place.
Great place
Rich is always a treat checking in and Ray the tee time attendant is a great guy. Love this place great condition. Tee boxes little meh but still really good.
Great place to dial in your irons
First off Mr. Frank inside and Mr. Ray the starter were great. Course is in great shape. Tee boxes little rough but everything else is very solid. Lots of gators out on this day. Love this place.
Excellent Venue
Always in the best condition and the greens are quick. Has its challenges for an executive course. A must play if you are in the area!
North Cousre
Loved playing the executive north course did it in three hours. Good tune up using irons for coming season
I expected a "normal" golf course
First, I know it was MY fault, I should have read the description more accurately.
I was expecting a "normal" golf course but the north course is a better academy course.
There are 12 par 3 holes and 6 par 4 holes. And even 2 of the par 4 holes are such that you have to play with a wedge first.
The course itself is in very good condition and the greens are very good. Also the staff was very friendly.
But I would have one important suggestion for improvement: There are no signs how to get to the north course and especially how to get back. We got so lost in the community, where all the streets and houses look the same, that it took us almost half an hour to get back to the clubhouse.
Put up more signs or give guests a map copy that shows the way.
