North Golf Course at Big Cypress Golf & Country Club

About
Big Cypress Golf Club is home to two golf courses, the championship South Course and the executive North Course. Located in Lakeland, Big Cypress is situated between Orlando and Tampa. The courses are part of a gated retirement community called Cypress Lakes. The North is less challenging and offers a gentler version of the South that is more approachable to beginners. It is a fairly narrow layout that features tree-lined fairways and strategically placed sand bunkers. Water also has a strong presence on the course, coming into play on a total of 12 holes. The layout is player-friendly and offers several risk-reward opportunities. It is a great for beginners and more advanced players will enjoy it for a quick round or a warm-up for the South Course. In addition to the two golf courses, there is also a driving range and putting green.

Perfect conditions
Best executive course around. Friendly service, great course not much more to ask for.
Big Cypress North Executive Course
First time playing the Executive Course at Cypress Lakes. It was cold and very windy today so not many out there this afternoon. I had a lot of fun and played well so that was a huge bonus along with the $20 it set me back with cart. The greens were recently redone and they are hard, true and fast which coming down from soggy cold Baltimore made it feel like mid-season golf in February! EXCELLENT!!
NICE WARM DAY IN LAKELAND
NICE COURSE GREAT PRACTICE COURSE, GREAT GREENS FAIRWAYS VERY GOOD. NICE PEOPLE IN PRO SHOP AND ON THE COURSE.
Friendliest staff around, course is good too
Love coming here, treated like a member check-in is always easy and the course is in amazing shape. Absolutely love this place.
Great for iron practice.
Great pace of play, took 2 hours for 18 holes. Conditions were very good & helps improve your short game.
Immaculate
In the best shape I think I’ve ever seen it. New greens are still hard, obviously because they’re new but wow they roll fantastically. Absolutely love coming here and the service is always very welcoming. Beautiful scenery and great place to work on your irons.
Greens were in great condition
Nice par 3/4 north course. Very tricky front nine. Got hang of it on back nine!
Great
A fantastic little course to only bring out your irons and work on your game
Great conditions
The course is in great condition, well laid out and a lot of fun to play!
The wildlife is an added bonus
The best executive course around
New greens same great customer service. We love coming out here even when the conditions weren’t so good. The new greens are beautiful and roll great. The course is in near perfect shape. Will definitely be back.
A Great Executive Course
The course re-opened in early Oct 2019 with new greens. As of mid-Oct, the greens are nearly perfect, with a little TLC still occurring around the fringes. This was our first time playing the North (Executive) Course, and it is perhaps the best short course I have played. The maintenance and quality of the course matches their superb South Course. With a 9 handicap, it was a good test of irons, chipping, and putting. My wife also enjoyed the course, playing from the forward of 2 sets of tees. Do not think of this as a beginners course, as even the skilled are challenged a bit with water on nearly every hole.
big Cypress north

May be fine when repairs complete
