North Golf Course at Big Cypress Golf & Country Club

About
Big Cypress Golf Club is home to two golf courses, the championship South Course and the executive North Course. Located in Lakeland, Big Cypress is situated between Orlando and Tampa. The courses are part of a gated retirement community called Cypress Lakes. The North is less challenging and offers a gentler version of the South that is more approachable to beginners. It is a fairly narrow layout that features tree-lined fairways and strategically placed sand bunkers. Water also has a strong presence on the course, coming into play on a total of 12 holes. The layout is player-friendly and offers several risk-reward opportunities. It is a great for beginners and more advanced players will enjoy it for a quick round or a warm-up for the South Course. In addition to the two golf courses, there is also a driving range and putting green.

Pretty much perfect
First off Mr. Rich in the pro shop that checked me in is one of the nicest people I’ve met. He’s always very pleasant and helpful. Starter was as nice and got us off with no issues. The north course was a bit a busy but to be expected with the perfect weather. Course conditions are pretty perfect so go play!!
Big cypress executive
First time playng. Fairways and greens were in great shape, tee boxes not so much. Greens rolled true and were FAST..
Only thing that I found lacking were signs to the course and especially signs from the north coast back to the main clubhouse. Non-existent. Otherwiase, great day and will try to get back.
Perfect really
Check in was a breeze, pace of play was great and course is in superb condition.
It’s OK… l guess…
It’s ok. All bermuda except for the greens. They were zoysia, and sloooow with little break. All the greens were round/oval. Nothing special. The rough was so dense it wasn’t penal. The ball just sat up. It’s can be quirky. Going from 2 to 3 you drive straight into 13. Three of the holes (as par 3’s) are blind - 5, 15 & 17. The ranger was a little rude. He approached me on a hole where he thought l was too close. I informed him l have a heart condition. He said well then next time get a handicap flag. I said I’d rather be approached. It was just the way he went about it and his tone. All in all, would l drive 30-40 minutes to play it again - no. If l had my clubs in my trunk and l just happened to be in the area and wanted a quick round - sure. But there’s just nothing inspiring about the track.
Fun place
Greens a tad slow but overall great condition. Easy check in super nice this time. Only played 13 holes rains came and lightning was ever present. Called it a day.
Really nice executive course
Great course, I think due to the recent rains they couldn’t mow the greens or rough. Bermuda gets super grainy when fuzzy and the rough just cradles around your ball. I like the challenge it presents but… Bunkers were all flat and not raked again I think due to the rains. Greens were fairly slow but in really good shape. I can’t really say but it doesn’t appear the pro shop guys like golf now customers, it was just a weird interaction that didn’t make you feel welcomed, maybe just me though. We’ll be back we like the course.
Customer Service
Not sure if it's because of the age 55 and up or because of my age and how I look. Anyways customer service here was about as miserable and non existent as the powwow running the pro shop. I've played her before with no issues. First time I played I paid for myself and my baby and wife were able to ride along. This time around I paid for 2 golfers thinking we could each get a cart [That's what would of happened if we paid separately] so that my wife and baby could ride with me. Then my brother would have his own cart. We'll I paid 50 for both of us. When I walked in first of it was more like a morgue. Not 1 proper polite getting was made, not hi welcome or how can I help. Just a "your late" by 8 mins. Big deal, no one plays the North course, especially in midday at 90 degrees. Long story short iv ended up having to pay another 25 dollars just to get a 2nd cart so my baby and wife could ride with me. Your lack of customer service and sense of entitlement was distasteful. Your old, but you don't have to act like your dead inside have some manners and compassion next time. Trying to teach my brother the game of golf while teaching my 6 month old as well.
I was disappointed in myself not the course I would have preferred to played a full-length course not a par 3 course
