North Golf Course at Big Cypress Golf & Country Club

About
Big Cypress Golf Club is home to two golf courses, the championship South Course and the executive North Course. Located in Lakeland, Big Cypress is situated between Orlando and Tampa. The courses are part of a gated retirement community called Cypress Lakes. The North is less challenging and offers a gentler version of the South that is more approachable to beginners. It is a fairly narrow layout that features tree-lined fairways and strategically placed sand bunkers. Water also has a strong presence on the course, coming into play on a total of 12 holes. The layout is player-friendly and offers several risk-reward opportunities. It is a great for beginners and more advanced players will enjoy it for a quick round or a warm-up for the South Course. In addition to the two golf courses, there is also a driving range and putting green.

Good course for short game practice.
Almost 10 min ride in cart to get to 1st tee. I played the executive course. 12 par threes. Greens were fast. Staff were nice.
Not happy
We were followed by a man on spraying herbicides just feet away. Wind blew it all over us. After 3 holes if this we got fed up and skipped the next 2 holes to get away from him. We were very upset about the exposure to outdoor herbicides... he was spraying the tall weeds around ponds. I mentioned it to a staff member in pro shop and he said it could not be their staff... who then??no offer was made to make up for the holes we missed.
Would not go back.
Love this place
Great shape right now greens are near perfect and roll very true. Everyone is always very nice love playing this course but the staff make it that much better.
Love this place wish it was on the south side!
Great short course that’s in really nice shape right now. The winter rye looks to be in for the most part and the greens look good and roll very true. Some challenging holes that require course management type shots so you have to think. Perfect place to practice wedges and mid irons. Staff is always nice love this place I’ll keep going back.
Nice executive course
Nice playing executive style course. Some element of challenge. Note first tee is located some distance from the pro shop.
Great little course, not what you would expect in a n executive old course. Very challenging
Nice layout
We had a great day. First time playing course. Staff was very helpful.
Great executive course that is challenging!
Very fun course and has its challenges. Conditions were really good and pace of play was ideal. Staff from checking in to the Marshall were all very courteous and helpful. Will play again for sure. Great place to work on your wedge game as well.
Very nice course
This is one of nicest courses we have played in the Lakeland area. Not just the course conditions, but the scenery as well. Highly recommend this course.
Fun Executive course!
This executive course is perfect for those not wanting to play a full 18 while still looking for a challenge. There are a lot of wetlands surrounding the fairways making stray shots become lost balls. The greens were in good condition and the pace of play was excellent.
Big Cypress North Course
Great course not too busy greens in excellent shape, very scenic
Executive Course
The course was in good condition and the staff was very friendly and helpful.
Pay on this course is tight on many holes. The greens were good but slower than some of the other courses we have been playing.
If you want to play an 18 hole executive course with some 250 to 300 yard par 4's, this is a very good choice.
Challeging executive course
This course is well maintained with an attractive layout. Some fairways are a little tight with woods and hazards but playable. There are enough sand traps and water hazards to make this short course challenging, but fun to play.
Cypress Lakes North Course
Excellent conditions. Due to threat of rain we were alone on the course. If you pay normal rates at the club house the course is over priced. Par 60 executive course. Their par 72 is in even better condition and equally over priced. They do have a real nice club house (bar snd restaurant) and pro shop. The staff is helpful and friendly. If you are watching your funds, with some research, you will find that you will do better elsewhere.
Amen
Great course for my skill.
Very good condition.
Workers helpful.
Short course
Executive course plays 3494 from tips. Six par fours, tight track, water and woods.Good course to work on your short game.
Got great deal on golf now a little pricey to pay $ 34 regular rate.
