North Golf Course at Big Cypress Golf & Country Club

About
Big Cypress Golf Club is home to two golf courses, the championship South Course and the executive North Course. Located in Lakeland, Big Cypress is situated between Orlando and Tampa. The courses are part of a gated retirement community called Cypress Lakes. The North is less challenging and offers a gentler version of the South that is more approachable to beginners. It is a fairly narrow layout that features tree-lined fairways and strategically placed sand bunkers. Water also has a strong presence on the course, coming into play on a total of 12 holes. The layout is player-friendly and offers several risk-reward opportunities. It is a great for beginners and more advanced players will enjoy it for a quick round or a warm-up for the South Course. In addition to the two golf courses, there is also a driving range and putting green.

Nice course, poor greens
We played and enjoyed . Met some friends from home . Cant wait for the greens to be repaired .
5 pars and a birdie day .
Great . The course was a little damp so it held the ball .
Long drive to get to first tee off
Nice layout for an executive course, but you have to drive cart a fair way to get to first tee off. Once there you have only a washroom facility if you want a drink or something to eat you have to drive all the way back to clubhouse to get it. So get everything before you start. Very wet course so if there’s any rain days before it’s always cart path only. I do like the layout, as a beginner it helps on the use of my irons.
Nice exec course .
Course had dried out and was fast . Good value and a fun day .
Nice exec. Course . But needs work.
This is the first time this year we played this course . The greens ,other than th 6th are in terrible shape . The course pro met is on 14 and stopped so say hello . Then thanked us for playing . He realized the badgreens and reminded us to play next year he will be redoing all the greens .
cypress lake north course
Very nice & challenging course. Greens need work. My understanding is they will be repairing the greens starting in March.
Save Your Money!
This is the worst golf course we have played in Florida! Save your money and let the goats finish grooming this farm land. The greens are terrible, so bad that there are huge patches of raised, black earth that crunches on it as you walk never mind putting a ball through it! The tee boxes are embarrassing, worn out, and have not been maintained, like the rest of the course. The fairways have standing water and truck like tire ruts throughout. I'm trying to think of one positive thing to say and I guess that would be the pace of play is great because nobody's on the course!
Enjoyed the quality of the course.great staff welcome clubhouse to orange shirt gentleman to make sure you you know directions &if there’s anythi
Thank you staff for making a great golf day for myself &my husband.saw a few alligators sunning themselves &varieties of birds.beautiful community.
cypress lake north course
The golf course is well kept & very challenging. The greens need some work. Over all a nice executive course.
Doesn't rate 4.5 stars
Have played there in the past then it was a pleasant course to play on. The Greens had been in good shape as long with the fairways. However today there were only two greens that I would consider decent the rest were terrible. had a good time with the foursome that I played with and managed to see a flock of wild turkeys and a herd of about 10 deer. Would not recommend this course until I get the greens repaired.
Disappointment
We have played this course several times over the past years .It is a nice executive course that can be enjoyable for anyone and that is why we played there yesterday. Our wives were part of the group. The course was in generally good condition tee to green but the greens have been neglected .Several have very rough black areas, they are dead slow and the pins have not been reset in many days. Two of the pins were cut in what looked like a washed out crater. At the very least a proud greenskeeper would reset the pins regularly in an area with good healthy grass
A little hidden jewel
I discovered this executive course this year and I am amazed at the quality of it. It is very well maintained, challenging and surrounded by trees and bushes. Very pleasant to play
Best exec course in the area
Ther is nothing negative I can say about this executive course and their full size course is even better top it off with a Golfnow fire sale price and it was a great way to finish my winter vacation
Well worth the money.
The best executive course I have had the pleasure of playing. The fairways were in excellent condition and the greens were fast and consistent.
Long drive . But worth it
The drive to the course to the clubhouse and back should be marked better .
Excellent Course
My husband and I are snowbirds and we have been playing this course for the last 8 years. When we arrive in Florida this is the first course we play. Once our golf swing is under control we play the South course which is challenging but very enjoyable to play. Play both courses and believe me you will not regret it.
