Nice Layout - needs attention
The course has potential, a nice layout and great surroundings . The greens need a lot of work. With a little TLC the course could come back strong.
Always a great day at Palm Cove
The staff at the Pro Shop, Starter, and Clubhouse Bar are always very courteous and friendly. The front 9 had a couple greens that need attention, but we always enjoy our round at Palm Cove.
Slow Play and Burnt out Greens
Positives: The staff was very friendly at every encounter.
Negatives: Pace of play was poor. The course sent out multiple groups on the back nine right before we turned. My group played in under 2 hours on the front and then turned right into a large mess, causing the back nine to take over 3 hours. The lack of a ranger led to 3-4 groups piling up on a single tee. The overall course conditions were below average. Multiple greens were under repair or burnt out. Multiple tees were more sand than grass. Not impressed for $70.
Other details: Course layout is tight with trees and water hazards adding to the challenge. Windy conditions made the course more difficult, but was still fun for our group.
Likely would not go back unless the conditions improve and/or the price is reduced.
The course is in very rough shape
Whomever is or was in charge of the greens keeping has their work cut out for them, because I'm sad to report that the course is currently in an awful state of disrepair. Many of the tee boxes are absolutely trashed, and the greens are even worse. There are sand traps with almost no sand in them (though others are in fine shape.) The staff at the course were all very nice, and the course itself is an interesting and unique one for Florida with lots of undulations in the fairways, but unless they fix the problems it's just not worth playing it IMO.
Great layout, fairways ok but greens and tee boxes need attention. Greens were disappointing
Greens
The greens need a lot of work. They are very weedy
Tight challenging course
Wish the greens and tee boxes would been in better shape
Poor conditions
Shaggy tee boxes and bad greens, generally dry and poorly maintained. Bunkers were 100% unplayable. The starter was a little rude and abrasive. Fun tight little course but unfortunately just not well maintained. Sould be priced accordingly.
Challenging Course
This course is challenging. The fairways are narrow with heavy rough and water all around.
Lousy greens
Greens were terrible, had an 8 a.m. tee time as a single and they wouldn’t put me off with the three women who also had that tee time. Ridiculous, I’m coming off shoulder surgery and playing from forward tees anyway., which I explained to the starter. He told me to go off nine as single and would pair me up when I came around to one. When I got to one he said he had no place to put me. After a little coaxing asking only for half my money back they dis give me a full refund but never again. Ended up at Crane Watch, first time and a great experience.
The course
The course needs water. Most greens had crab grass growing on them. The tee boxes were in bad shape and the fairways were not in good shape. Overall I was very disappointed in the condition of the course.
