About
This Treasure Coast golfing jewel embraces the traditional values of golf course architecture emphasizing shot value, variety and dramatic effect. Meandering through an 800 home residential community, St James offers 4 sets of tees for individual playing ability and a challenging round for all levels. The 6800 yard, par 72 design features 64 dramatic bunkers and 17 water hazards. The club also offers a state-of-the-art practice facility, with natural grass tee, simulated fairway bunker and dedicated short game area with putting green.

Greens were a mess. Course had been watered so much that “Lift, clean and place” should have been posted on the first tee.

Fun course to play
Course is in better shape than past years. Depending on the tee you choose you can make the course relatively easy to very difficult.

The pros and cons
The pros are still a good course. Greens are still fast. The cons: Some of the greens are in bad shape. Rakes are breaking at bunkers. Still love playing here.

Close to we’re i was staying
Morning times available, fast greens, downhill putts are trying, I played two days in a row, so I enjoyed it enough to come back, great practice facilities, 16 th green was very beat up, my cart ran out of juice, they had to bring me a new one, but regardless I came back the next day and really enjoyed the course. Would play again when in town.

Great day
The pace was decent, the course was in good shape, maintenance obvious . The challenging holes were still challenging, even tho conditions (weather) were perfect.

SLOW
I generally play super early, and usually love this course. Today I decided to play around 10:20am. It was a full 5:15 minute round. The fairways were extremely dry and tight which isn’t a horrible thing. None of the bunkers had been raked that morning. All of the tee boxes were very long. Overall it didn’t seem like like a lot of care had been put into the course this week. That being said the cart staff was fantastic. The two gentlemen manning the carts were on point.

Fun
Single handicap golfer here. Enjoyed the wide fairways, but tuff course with lots of fairway bunkers and water to manage. Greens and fairways in overall good condition. Just fun golf to enjoy. No quirkiness here. Good place to have some matches .

Greens and tee boxes need worm
This course is usually great for the price but the greens were in terrible condition unfortunately. Tee boxes were also in rough shape. Strange to see this course in such poor conditions.

Four Groups Waiting on 8th Hole
When we arrived on the 7th hole it was backed up by three groups. At the 8th it was backed up by four groups. No Marshall anywhere. We left. We stopped at the Clubhouse. Customer service was not good. They explained there was a tournament. Would only give us a rain check for nine holes.
