About
This Treasure Coast golfing jewel embraces the traditional values of golf course architecture emphasizing shot value, variety and dramatic effect. Meandering through an 800 home residential community, St James offers 4 sets of tees for individual playing ability and a challenging round for all levels. The 6800 yard, par 72 design features 64 dramatic bunkers and 17 water hazards. The club also offers a state-of-the-art practice facility, with natural grass tee, simulated fairway bunker and dedicated short game area with putting green.

Good shape for being wet
The course was a little wet but they did have some heavy rain the couple of days beforehand, so it was playing it’s full 6700 yards. As always the greens are pretty quick and rolling true, some of the bunkers still had some water in them but with no rain the last week I’m sure they’re much better now. It’s still one of my go to courses and will definitely be playing there again soon.

Course is decent
The course is spaced out. Long drive by cart, wouldn't consider walking. A couple of obstacles that, as a beginner, I feel are too much (specifically 8&9). Having played here 3 times now, I only lost one ball on those 2 holes instead of 2.
2 holes were sloppy muddy and 3 or 4 wet, due to the amount of rain we've had, I was actually expecting worse, so kudos to the drainage/ groundskeeper.

St. James is always one of my favorite courses. Not a 10 on the scale but a very good course especially for the price. Tees are good, fairways are in good shape and the greens 90% of the time are good and very fast in my opinion. Layout is fun both wide open but yet challenging. In response to a previous players review I have to agree that the pin locations are ridiculous. Now I play this course almost every week and honestly just paid attention to the pin locations after reading there review. It was definitely spot on. During my recent round I did notice that the pins are in spots that don't even seem right that's how tight they are. These are definitely not for the everyday golfer but for more like a round 4 of an official tournament. 3 or 4 paces off the back on a down slope, there were a few holes that the hole was pretty much on a little hill. I only regret not taking pictures but will next time for sure. All in all the course is good and love playing there but believe me and I play tournaments that these pins are not very friendly at all which takes away from the round. Definitely go play but if you're gonna be firing at pins you can forget about it for the most part

Pin locations are crazy
I doubt any USGA event would allow some of these pin locations, two steps onto the green and /or on the apex of major slopes. Really not much fun. And a word to people who play there, fix your ball Mark's on the greens! Keep on leaving them and this course wont have the one reason I play there...decent greens.

Nice Greens
Course is best known for its greens which were in good shape. Fairways were in fairly good shape but tee boxes were terrible.

Course condition
Course needs some work. Grass cutting, especially on tee boxes.

Tee boxes were overgrown. Rough area were extremely too high. Other than that the course is always a blast to play at. Still my home course.

Was goof
It was a busy day, pace was very very slow. I think they overbooked the morning, we had to wait 15+ mins at the tee box on every hole because the 4some in front of us was taking so long.
