About
This Treasure Coast golfing jewel embraces the traditional values of golf course architecture emphasizing shot value, variety and dramatic effect. Meandering through an 800 home residential community, St James offers 4 sets of tees for individual playing ability and a challenging round for all levels. The 6700 yard, par 72 design features 64 dramatic bunkers and 17 water hazards. The club also offers a state-of-the-art practice facility, with natural grass tee, simulated fairway bunker and dedicated short game area with putting green.

Cheating the System
Being open to the public w online booking I notice Golfers trying to cheat the system - They book a time when the rates are more expensive and then show up hours early. Just pay the $25 - Its one thing to be a deal hunter - another to cheat the system and then get belligerent when told "NO" -

Nice course, friendly staff. Picked a later tee time so we could have a relaxed pace and had no issues at all.

Rude
Course is in decent condition, greens are nice but as long as the woman checking in “guests” today is working there I’ll never play St James again. She was rude to me and the two guys I played with, all checked and dealt with her separately. In the 30 plus years I’ve been playing and hundreds of rounds I can truly say I’ve never been treated so rudely as today.
To St James Management, there are some people who should never be put out in front of customers, this lady is one of them. I ran a global customer service organization for over 30 years so I know a little something about service. The cart staff was very friendly, coming and going.
To golfnut19681. I was the only one in line or within 50 feet of my playing partner that was talking to the lady in question so I find it interesting that you say you heard the conversation... nevertheless, you pretty much confirmed my suspicions. I had the feeling all along that we were being treated the way we were because we weren’t members or “regulars” who haven’t played “3 times a week for 16 years”. I’m also disappointed no one from the club bothered to comment. NBD.
I've been playing here 3 times a week for 16 years. This guy is a clown. He was standing at the check in window begging to go out early on his Hot Deal - If you want to play prime time then pay - It was embarrassing to watch a grown man whining.
Wet but fun
Course was very wet, but we started at 6:45 am
Tee boxes not great shape, but greens were nice and fairly fast.

Great drainage and layout
Love this course because it’s always pretty dry. Can’t say as much for some of the people that play there though. Had some real douche bags behind us

Hidden gem
Course is in great shape even though area has experienced heavy rains each day. Greens are a little slower than usual but very receptive to shots.

Good experience
This course is plenty long and plays well. But when it rains there are too many paths are covered with water and many areas are too wet and covered with water. But when it is dry, it is a nice course to play on.

Nice course but wet!!
The course is a nice layout, but it doesn’t drain well. Get a little rain and it all turns into a swamp. Tough to play in wet conditions. Starter also needs some training. Was put with various groups and I didn’t get that resolved until the 4th hole. Almost impossible to find any rhythm today.
On the day you played only 2 courses in the area were open without cart path restrictions. This was one.

Always one of the best courses
St. James is always a fun and great course. For the price and the course conditions you can't beat it. Not long from the tips and very player friendly. Course is always 8 out of 10 condition and sometimes better. Weather as usual in Florida does make things messy on most courses. I play here quite often and always have a great time. Guys working the carts and the bag area are fantastic, as friendly as they come. The Pro Shop needs a little attention. The lady that works there seems like a grump snd never smiles. The other guy in there (forgot his name or I would say it) needs to watch how he talks on the radio to the guys working. I was next to the starter the other day when he said a smart little comment but I stayed shut. Next time I won't. The starter, Phil, is the nicest guy. Recommend this course

The course is golfer friendly
Pace of play was great Greens were in good condition for summer play at 100 degrees. Still would recommend if never played.

While the course is in good condition for the summer and I enjoyed playing. It was a strange atmosphere as I was met with the starter being surprised that I had shown up to my tee time early. I planned on hitting some range balls before my round but was informed that the range was closed on tuesdays, no big deal, but when I went to the chipping/putting green there was a gentleman out hitting on the range. Not sure if he was doing it because he felt like it or what, but struck me as odd to see it. Before I got my cart I was met with profanity from individuals in the cart barn, now I don’t mind it but once again it was just odd Since it’s not something usually seen.
Overall, the course was great and I enjoyed playing here, but I wouldn’t pay more than the $15 hot deal offered by Golfnow.
