Crowded
Way too many people booked at once. 3 1/2 hour only made it to the 12th hole.
Considering how much rain had fallen the previous two days, the course was in good condition
We played this course for th first time last year and it was as good as we remembered it. You are made to feel very welcome here. The greens run true and are are quite challenging to read. When the course is so wet, it is a shame people don’t keep their carts away from the wet areas..
If we return to this area, it’ll be on our list to,play again.
The greens are perfect and fast . Fairways ,and cart path are, at least ,dry .Just somes players at this time .we can play relax
Friendly atmosphere
Great course layout. Very fast greens.Great staff and amenities. Always feel very welcome here. Course looks easy at first glance but greens and layout make you work to score well.
Fast Greens even when wet
This was our first time playing this course and we had some passing showers during play and the evening before we played. The green were in good shape but very fast. Some of the pin placements made for very difficult down hill putts. The course is fairly open and forgiving of off-target tee shots. The holes are varied and some quite challenging. The back nine feature 3 par 3 holes and 3 par 5 holes! We would play the course again the next time we are in the area.
Great Greens
Love this course and the people who run it. Since moving to Florida 14 months ago I ve played here more then the other 8 courses I ve played combined. It was wet yesterday but very playable!
I like this golf ,challenge just perfect .Greens are perfect, fast and difficult . Just some places are wet and some sand traps are not perfect but after hurricane that ok.
Drive By
Whenever my wife and I drive down to visit family we always pass this course on the turnpike. Even when i didn't swing a club I always was intrigued by the grass and the rolling hill layout. So after finally taking up the sport, I was able to play here finally! the weather was nice an cool with some challenging wind and gusts, but it made it that much better. The layout was great, well place bunkers and water features. I had a blast playing here, especially for the cost, I would definitely come back again.
Weedy, Pot Holes,
Have played this course several times over the last year and found it to in poor health. Greens were excellent, but the weeds were everywhere, in the collars, in the sand traps and all over the fairways. Seems like the course has not been maintained during the summer. The Staff was excellent at the carts and in the clubhouse. When one drives 45 minutes to play golf, one expects better. We love the course layout and challenge and would hope manpower is made available to bring this course back to its former stature.
St James Golf Course
Course in great shape. We had alot of rain but course in good shape.
Great layout.
Shocked
I was shocked at how the condition of this course has deteriorated since mid-June when I last played here. Although the greens and fairways were in good condition the rest of the course was not. The bunkers were virtually unplayable as they were overgrown with weeds some knee high and had not been raked for some time. Weeds were growing around the greens and on a couple of holes I had to wade through weeds to get to the tee (almost stepped in a hole that was covered with weeds).
Very disappointing as this was one of my favorite courses to play in the area. Pace of play was excellent as no one was playing albeit that it was midday. Didn't see a starter, ranger, or any maintenance people.
Up date to my comment. They are bringing the course back. Thank you. Also I would like to commend the course for providing an advisory that the greens were recently aerified. Yhey also drop their rates. How often I have gone to other courses, paid full price only to get to the first green to find they are not puttable. Or, to be informed of the aerification right after I hand them my money.
Thanks St James
Port St. Lucie - St. James Course
Nothing fancy but the course has a good layout and the hole lengths are plenty long ( no shorter than normal holes). Stay in the fairways to optimize distance because the rough generally has some pretty deep grass that will grab your ball pretty quickly. This is an open course with only occasional water hazards and few trees. I played the entire round without losing any balls, so it is fairly forgiving. Good value for fees. Very reasonable.
Turf club - excellent greens and pace of play
Very fast greens that ran true. Really nice shape. Playing in late July and barely another golfer in sight. Finished in less than 3 hours. Awesome.
great value
course in great shape, greens are fast and true, in fast round under 4 hours in summer time
Nice Course
The course is in great shape and the greens are about as fast as you will see. Your approach shots will not hold so play according. Played in the middle of day and the course was empty and for 12$ on golf now how can you go wrong.
Excellent
Course could not have been in better shape. Friendly staff. Quick pace. I can not wait to return. Great deals worth every penny.
Really. I rely on these reviews when booking. As I noted in my review the bunkers are overgrown with weeds and not raked'
