Madison Green Country Club
About
With over 200 courses in Palm Beach County, architect John Sandford knew he would have to create something special to get attention. At Madison Green Country Club he did just that, creating a unique course that combines many of the best features from local courses, with a few surprises all its own.
Over a thousand palm trees line the course as do over 100 bunkers and 42 acres of shimmering lakes.
One very interesting aspect of the design is that not only does the course get longer as you move back in tees, but the shot angles also get increasingly challenging. This means that the good player not only has further to hit but must also place the ball more accurately on the fairway in order to set himself up for his next shot.
A young teen, his father, his mother and even his grandfather playing together from four different sets of tees will all experience a fair challenge for their respective games that still remains enjoyable!

Tough test of golf
Greens are rolling well and medium fast. The fairways were very fast with very little grass. Had to pick the ball. Mud on the ball. Therefore the narrow fairways made some holes nearly impossible. I hit several balls down the middle that ran down to the water. Water on every hole. Plenty of forced carries. The fairways are just too narrow on the par 5 holes. They need to leave some rough left and right to slow down the ball. Some goofy doglegs. Had two birdies and still shot 6 over my handicap because of the water. Not fun. Too tough for me.
5 Hour Round
Madison Green is a good golf course with many interesting and challenging hole. It's in decent condition and the staff is friendly.
However, the pace of play is awful. A round of golf is meant to be played in 4 hours, not 5 hours. The ranger we saw seemed indifferent to the poor pace of play and was unwilling to encourage the groups ahead to speed up play. We waited on every shot until we reached the 18th hole. The real problem is the scheduling of tee times 7/8 minutes apart. Good golf courses, where you play in 4 hours or less, schedule tee times 10 minutes apart and have rangers on the course to insure that the pace of play is maintained. Spend the extra money and play Atlantic National, Sandhill Crane or the Florida Club.
Very Poor
We had 4 players and had a 146 tee time when we arrived no carts ready did not tee off until 215 and still was backed up on every hole no amenities on course no one to move slower players fairway where dry and little grass and bunkers where dirt not sand played there last year and it was ok not anymore, couldn’t get round in got dark because of slow play and no rangers to help.
Very slow
We had. A 14? PM teee off and when we arrive no carts where’s available waited until 210 to tee off and very slow and back up on course at every hole, No help in trying to manage players in front of us and had to play last three holes in twilight. No beverage cart and. You can’t go to club house between 9 & 10 tee very hot no water on course to drink
Difficult Day at Madison Green
The staff and greens were very nice. Don’t care for the Water Driving Range. Not much sand in the bunkers or grass in the fairways. Fairways were running very fast. A shot down the middle could wind up in the water on the left or right because of the steep grade towards the water. Too many forced carries over water for me. Two doglegs that are 90 degrees right have trees blocking your shot off the tee. Water on every hole. I’m an 11 handicap here and I played the back side in triple, quad, double, bogey and birdie, birdie. I normally don’t lose a ball all day. Maybe one some days. Lost 5 here. 25 putts and still played 6 over my handicap. Tough test of golf. Too much for me.
More than five(5) hours to play, no marshall, cart broken and finish by foot. We do not recommand this course. Sorry but it is the evidence.
My Day at Madison Green
A great design in terrible condition. The course layout is a bear, made even more difficult by course conditions. The fairways had little grass and the greens were threadbare and bumpy. It's a shame as 10 years ago, the track was awesome.
Good value for a touch courae
The course was not in great shape. The fairways weee hard and not well watered. The greens were fast and also needed water. I knew this course from years ago and has not help up well
Good Golf Course
Teriffic layout with many interesting holes. Not in the greatest condition, however, the greeen are in good shape and challenging.
The pace of play was terrible. No ranger on the course. The group ahead of us felt compelled to have lengthy conversations before teeing off on all holes.
Something must be done to keep play moving. The goal should be a 4 hour round.
