Duran Short course
Very nice practice facility and short course. The lights allow you to enjoy evenings after work on the course. Course gets a lot of play greens keeper doing a great job keeping it in shape.
Odd
Golf now allows tee times until 733pm. The actual lights go out at 9pm. Due to the pace of play we set unable to finish the 9 holes and only got 7 in.
The pro shop failed to mention that the lights go out at 9pm but DID mention many other things that were far less important. We were aware of the slow play which is totally acceptable but failed to understand why the course lights would shut down prior to everyone completing.
There was a group behind us also that were allowed to go out.
Cash grab. Whatever….
Weekly player; course looks great!
Greens are looking good! Technically they are a little slow, as the grass is left a little fuzzier than a full par-72 would have them cut down to, but the speed rolls true from the 1st to the 9th green. So once you figure out the pace, sinking putts and getting good practice is possible.
The only negative is that my last two rounds I e had to pass a group, which means skipping a hole. Once because the twosome was ancient and his physically couldn’t move very quickly (and aim okay with that). But the second time was a 4-some and they just couldn’t hit the ball so it was taking three shots to even reach the green and then another three putts to finish. Add on that they weren’t playing ready golf and all took excessive practice swings and you’ve got a group taking almost 20min per hole.
But it’s a practice course at a decent price. All in all, it’s a great place to dial in the short irons or work on little punch/pitch type shots. I’m always here, gotta get the practice in with the scoring clubs. Go hit the range if you wanna work on drivers/woods.
Course Conditions: Excellent!
Greens are looking good again! And they finally mowed down a lot of the overgrowth around the greens that made finding balls almost impossible.
Holes play 57-112yrds, perfect for dialing in the wedges or working on lower trajectory shots that mitigate wind-affects. Perfect way to warm up before a round across the street at Duran!!
Nice job
This course is fun and nice in all aspects. Great job by staff keeping it in good shape with the heavy use. One of our favorite places to go!
Great for after work!
I am a fairly new golfer. The course is well lit and provides an excellent opportunity to practice my short game after work. The staff is very friendly and helpful. There is a great driving range with track man to warm up before your round. I walked the course with a little Sunday bag. You tee off from mats and the holes are between 70-130 yards. The greens are new and are a work in progress but were noticeably improved from when I played two weeks ago. The pace of play was reasonable and takes between 60 and 90 minutes to play. it’s a great value for the money.
Fun par 3 course
First time playing the short course and had fun. Conditions were excellent with fast greens.
Returned for a good time
Regretfully was extremely disappointed after havinb such a great first experience the staff was ok at best, however the manager was incredibly king and cordial.
