Decent course
It was a new course i havent played in my area. It was fun to play a nee layout. Tee boxes were ok. Fairway grass was kind of long. Might be cause of the heat. The greens were dry and slow. Not bad though. Rough was mostly cut weeds. It was a pretty course with a lot of established trees. All of the par 3s were the same length. The staff was amazing! Water coolers at every other hole. Not a lot of hazard was nice but fairways were thin. I would recommend and would play again. Oh and the pace of play was spot on. We finished our round in 3 hours and 20 minutes
Fun course great greens
First time playing here, course looks pretty well maintained. The greens are clean and smooth. Staff was friendly. Definitely coming back for another round.
On the Florida historic golf trail...
Thanks to the staff at Rockledge for working me in asap after i mistakenly arrived 2 hours early for my tee time. I appreacated that. Former Head pro George Wilson is credited as the architect of 9 holes here . But course is very similer to the Donald Ross courses i`ve played Here in central florida, Compares very favorably to Dunedin CC, Daytona Beach South, Palatka GC , Lake Wales CC , And Mark Bostic GCin Gainsville. Tight driving areas
and uplifted and canted greens make the yardage decieving difficult. This is classic golf at its best and quite challenging.Even though i am a golf history nerd I really did enjoy myself, and definetly recommend this golf course.
Great time
Good course in great shape. Very slow greens but i think it’s a rarity. Otherwise great time. Will play again.
Course in great condition...greens are fast and tricky to read.
Few-frills, Old Florida golf
Rockledge is not going to knock golfers' socks off with a memorable layout, but this semi-private club (some afternoon availability) - one of the oldest in the state - is a pleasant place for a game. The fairways are flat and tree-lined and the greens tend to be pushed-up and fairly small, which will give your chipping and short putting a workout. What is most appealing about Rockledge is that it is relatively unencumbered by housing. There are homes around the periphery of the property and out-of-bound tightens the throat on the tee shots on two par fives, but for the most part the accuracy required off the tee has to do more with trees than white stakes. Water is also fairly minimal. The course has hosted the local Platinum Coast Invitational amateur tournament for decades.
beautifull layout
Fairways were a dream to hit from, excellent condition.
A couple of the greens need work, but the majority were the best I've played in the area.
Possibly the friendliest staff in Florida.
better club house then golf course
The staff is super friendly. And the club house and locker room are superb.
The course design and setting needs some updating.
Very friendly layout from the forward and middle tees. Not to much trouble to get into.
I found the course to be in over all good shape with pretty fast greens and a nice cushion in the fairways.
Older course with character
Greens were small and fast. Fun to play. Fairways need a little work but overall fun to play.
Just OK, well playable, but a bit boring layout….
I played it for the first time, also because of the high ratings in the reviews here. Maybe all other reviewers have played another course? This is a pleasant and quiet place, but there is really nothing special to it at all. No staff at bag drop or on course – staff valuation is for Pro Shop only. The course is just “forward and back”. None of the holes have a special character. The fairways are surrounded by trees and this is maybe the only thing that makes it a little bit tougher, because it requires straight shots. Played from the tips it is not long at all. But the course is well maintained, fairways and bunkers are fair and well playable. Greens are clean and rather fast, but on some spots missing grass. Not too crowded and so the pace was very pleasant.
Overall – a well playable course, well maintained but really not outstanding layout and length. The green fee is either too high…
Great value
Oustanding greens. Fun layout. Course requires shot making. Tight fairways . Overall a great value for the price.
Liked the course... easy to walk... not special in any way
The course was fun to walk... in a rather noisy neighborhood. It is showing some wear and tear and the facilities are average. Still, it was fun to play for the summer... but I wouldn't go out of my way to play it. It seems to be struggling to keep its facilities up to snuff.
Ols school golf course with a lot of character.
This golf course is very player friendly with smaller greens, that are mounded and undulating. The staff is very friendly and helpful. Excellent value for the money from GolfNow.
Slow Fairways and Large Fast Greens
It's a course that once you finish your round you feel you should have scored better. The fairway grass was a little long so drives didn't roll much but hitting your next shot off grass was better than hitting off of summer Florida hardpan like at many local courses. Greens were large but very fast and browning a little in the summer sun. I was told they aerated three weeks ago so they may still be suffering from top dressing. Hopefully when I go back I'll play better.
This course has a bit of everything a golfer looks for in a great course
This is a private course and I was received like a member, staff is great the course is very beautiful and lastly very fun to play, will go back.
