Stewart Peninsula offers a nine-hole golf course along Lake Lewisville with dual greens on every hole. On the first round, you'll play from the red tees to the red flags, and on the back you'll go yellow to yellow. After a straightforward opening hole where the only real problem is a pesky fairway bunker, nos. 2 and 3 start a trend of interesting holes. No. 2 offers completely different looks from each set of tees. The right side pin placement presents problems because of the lake, and the left flag rests close to greenside mounding that will send balls bounding afar. Misses here should find the bunkers, as the recovery is not all that difficult from the sand. Stewart Peninsula's third hole is probably the signature, and a 250-yard drive will put you in prime position to go at the multi-tiered green. Avoid missing back right, as the up-and-down is especially difficult from that side.

Unusual Course

was a fun but different course. playing 9 holes twice with 2 separate tee boxes and greens lead to some strange rules. but overall good experience with course

Pretty 9 hole course

While 9 holes there are 18 tees and 18 flags. The 1st is the 10th etc but different flag and tee positions.

The course is not long and is great for positional golf by making you really think what club to use

The course has amazing views of the lake and the gentleman in the club shop was super friendly

Great Views and Fun to Play

Great views of the lake from almost every hole. Unique setup as it is 9 fairways but 18 greens. Fun to play. Challenging as well. Will definitely play again.

Stewart Penisula

9- Hole course you play twice for an 18 hole round. Different format with each green being separate with two pins to facilitate creating two holes out of one. Not a true 18 hole course but not exactly just a 9 hole course either. Nice views by the lake, quality of course is fair at best but inexpensive and nice staff

Best staff, excellent public course

First, I wish I could give 6 stars to the man that works the counter. I asked his name twice and I still can't remember, so I apologize, but he was very warm and welcoming. I brought a first-time golfer and couldn't have asked for a better introduction for him.

The course was strange for me, I've never played a 9 fairway, 18 hole course. It does cause some congestion at the tee boxes as everyone playing 18 are playing the same 9 fairways, but everyone was accommodating and understanding of our slower pace.

The grounds are very well kept and there was a nice diversity of design achieved by both the placement of tee boxes and the holes themselves. I am no professional, so I can't speak to design theory as I've seen others do, but it was quite enjoyable and I would return to play on my own or with friends.

The club house is limited and there was no beverage cart today. I saw they had a cart, but I believe it was down for maintenance as it was in the open cart shed. They have a driving range that was closed today as they were cleaning up from the storm last night.

It is a smaller course in a beautiful setting on Lake Lewisville. It's not the back 9 at Pebble Beach...but it's fantastic value for the price and with none of the stuffy, entitled type of staff that can make the more expensive courses feel like a chore instead of a recreation.

Who woulda thought

Wow-who woulda thought a little 9 hole course tucked into the colony would be so challenging and yet so terrific! You play the course twice from different tee boxes and different flags to get in the 18. As you would figure the second time through gives you that chance to make up for any shortcomings the first time through. I needed it as this course is narrow on many fronts. It plays right up against Lake Lewisville and has many water hazard areas. Several holes are sloped towards the lake so if you miss to the wrong side you are probably fishing It out or hitting a new one. Other than being pretty tough, the one negative i would throw out there is it has many homes that sit right up against it so if you really miss then you might be buying a window. The tee boxes are a little hard but in good shape. The fairways are in good shape. Just outside the fairways the grass gets really deep quick. Greens were just aerated and sandy so played pretty slow and pretty challenging. The views were excellent. The staff was very friendly and helpful. Great little course to check out next time you are around the colony!

Great little gem!

Family run, muni-style course - with unreal views of Lake Lewisville. Heck, you’re pretty much with the boaters at times!

Fun layout, decent course conditions. It is a 9 hole course you play twice with different pin positions - but knowing this walking in, you’ll have a great time!
