Stewart Peninsula Golf Course
About
Stewart Peninsula offers a nine-hole golf course along Lake Lewisville with dual greens on every hole. On the first round, you'll play from the red tees to the red flags, and on the back you'll go yellow to yellow. After a straightforward opening hole where the only real problem is a pesky fairway bunker, nos. 2 and 3 start a trend of interesting holes. No. 2 offers completely different looks from each set of tees. The right side pin placement presents problems because of the lake, and the left flag rests close to greenside mounding that will send balls bounding afar. Misses here should find the bunkers, as the recovery is not all that difficult from the sand. Stewart Peninsula's third hole is probably the signature, and a 250-yard drive will put you in prime position to go at the multi-tiered green. Avoid missing back right, as the up-and-down is especially difficult from that side.

First Timers
I booked the course apparently not reading the details that we would play the same 9 twice. I am not a fan of this type of course, but as we got playing it was apparent it’s not exactly the same 9 played twice. For each tee box and each green, the markers are in different locations: so for hole 1, you tee off at a different tee box than you do for the same hole used for hole 10. Same goes with the green...the pin for 1 is in a different location than 10. This caused some confusion at first, but we just had to remind ourselves which color we were playing. The setting is actually very nice because of the surrounding lake. The carts do not have navigation or amenities for club cleaning, etc. The course was full, and the pace was pretty good until around hole 13, then we waited at every hole. We were paired up with another 2 guys who were singles and one was a regular at this course so he was helpful in navigation. Some fairways were narrow so you will find other playing on your fairway. Because there are 2 pins on the green, some of the greens are pretty small so placement on the green can be challenging. We got a great deal on golf now ($25/2) so would definitely play again at that price. Heard there was a driving range but didn’t use it - it’s around a corner and not really visible that even existed.
Not 18 holes
I was disappointed to discover there are not 18 holes here. The course conditions were as expected for the price, people were fine. If I lived in the neighborhood, I'd play here. If you need to drive more than a few minutes, you're probably better off elsewhere.
Fun day’s golf
Nice 9 hole course on the lake. At first appeared to be relatively short and simple but the fun factor of the wind off the lake came into play and created a good challenge. Reminded me of my youth playing links golf in England, will definitely make a few more visits.
Thanks for coming out to play Stewy P. Glad you enjoyed the round and our nice weather. Please let me know the next time you are coming out. Thanks Randy Head Golf Professional.
Thanks for coming out to play golf at Stewart Peninsula. Please let us know if we can help your round be more enjoyable.
Thanks for coming out to Stewy P and playing golf.
This course wasn’t bad if you are a beginner or taking your kids out for a round. Over priced for what you get in my opinion.
Thanks for coming out to Stewart Peninsula.
BEWARE !
Just plain awful. I'm sorry it seems like a one man show and I really wanted to give it good remarks but simply the worst golf course and customer service I've received all year (GOLF).
False advertising. Its not a 18-hole golf course but a 9-hole you play twice but the course is simply in bad shape and the city needs to put more money into the maintenance.
The clubhouse looks like a rundown convenience store and the manager was just plain rude. As my group walked in we interrupted his snack eating time. He continued to watch tv and explained to us that the golf tournament was exciting...ok what? After taking our money explained to us that we were going to late for our tee-time. There were only 5 cars in the parking lot and playing partners explained we had waited on him and that the course was wide open. He replied tee-time is a tee-time.
Don't worry Randi (another golfer told me) manager. I wont play this city's golf course again!
By the way no food served but snacks....
Thanks for trying Stewart Peninsula. Sorry you did not have a great experience. Come out some time when I am there and give me a chance to correct the problem. Sorry I was not working that day. I checked the tee sheet when you played. Our course is in great shape. Sorry for the misleading part. GolfNow says 18 holes our website says one of the best 9 holes in Texas. Thanks again.
Thanks for coming out and playing golf at Stewart Peninsula. Hope to see you again soon.
I like it
I'm a member there and have played it on and off for about 10 years. Yes it's 9 holes and you have to play it twice to get 18 in but there are 2 sets of greens both of which are the best I've played this year anywhere. The t-boxes are just as good and the price is right. Yes they have some walkers like me but I'll let you by if your in a big hurry. Give it a try! Pretty laid back.
Thanks for supporting the golf course and staff. Looking for another great year.
READ FINE PRINT
This course sells itself as a 18 hole golf course, but you just play 9 holes twice. And when you come around to your 2nd 9, you have to deal with a bunch of people trying to tee off for their 1st 9 at the same time you are trying to get your 2nd 9 in. Was so packed we left after playing only 9 after paying for 18. WILL NEVER GO BACK!
Sorry you felt mislead on the 9 holes. Our website notes numerous times we are one of the top 9 hole courses in the state. If you purchased on Golfnow it is possible they do not tell you that. During the week if we have twosomes they play faster than two hour nines and it will bunch up a little at the tee box. Sorry you had to wait. If you would like I will comp you a round and give us another chance to do better. Just ask for Randy
double 9
you should have your web site noted that it was a double 9 course.
Not worth the time
First: it is Par9 course that you have to play twice. Second: greens are in very bad condition and very slow, bumpy and a few were temporary greens ( reminded me playing long time ago in Canada Ottawa area in spring time). Third: most of fare ways are side sloped. Will never play here again, even for free.
Sorry you did not enjoy your time playing golf. But I think you have our golf course confused with an other one. We are not on any temporary greens and our golf course is in great shape. We offer four par 4s and one par 5. Only the par 5 has a large sloping fairway. Come play Stewart Peninsula and enjoy a round of golf sometime.
Nice short course
9 hole par 33 course with dual pins and multiple tee boxes enables you to play 18 different holes.
Fairways and greens were in good shape for this time of year
Pace of play issue due to slow 5-some who chose not let our faster two-some play through.
A good course for the price, a great course for beginners or short drive hitters. I would play there again
Not bad for the price.
For the hot deal price it wasn't a bad course. Its a 18 hole course they crammed into 9 with different tee boxes and pin locations. Greens were good and bunkers were fine. It was extremely windy but you are right off the lake so that is to be expected. Also if you love par 3's this is the course for you. Driving range was kind of shady but if you return the bag that your balls were in you get some of your money back. All in all it was fun.
Great Course
This course is great for beginners, a lot of Par 3 and Par 4s. Greens are a bit rough but overall very well taken care of. I definitely enjoy my time there.
Thanks for coming out to play golf at Stewy P. Glade you enjoyed your round. We aerified the greens just a week ago. Give them about a week and they will be in great condition. Come back and play again soon. Thanks Staff
Hidden gem (must play)
If you think your short game is good, you need to play here. I had a great experience here. The wind was strong and the course layout is superb. For a nine hole course the red and gold setup will meet any players skill level. I highly recommend to all golfers, regardless of skill.
Course condition is adequate. Staff is very friendly. The cutest clubhouse around!
Thank you for playing golf at Stewart Peninsula. Come back and see us soon.
Relaxation to Agitation
Used GolfNow to book a tee time with friends to play Stewart Peninsula. For those that don't know, you play the same 9 holes 2x [each time you use a slightly different tee location and hit to a different pin on the green]. Not a big deal, but certainly something that could affect pace-of-play. This is where the agitation began. I've played golf for years and had marshals either greet my group, make suggestions on how to play a particular hole and occasionally encourage a group to play "ready golf." They do things differently at Stewart Peninsula. The marshal I encountered on Saturday was rude and abrupt. He asked my group to "hurry up." When I replied that we "were playing as fast as we can" he said, "play faster." Despite the good weather, the decent course conditions and finding this course to be a reasonable value, I won't return. The disrespect and "hall monitor" approach didn't sit well with me.
Thank you for coming out to Stewart Peninsula. I am sorry your golf experience was not what you were expecting. BUT, as I mentioned to you that day. You made the turn in 2 hours and 20 minutes. For us to keep tee times on time and for fellow golfers to enjoy their round. We must monitor a 2 hour round. This is common practice at all golf courses. If you would like to play at a more leisurely pace you might try playing during the week. Thank you Randy Brittain Head Golf Professional.
