Frisco Lakes Golf Club

I’ve played this course twice, and both times it was in fantastic shape, especially during the drought. The only issue was the pace of play. Waiting 10+ minutes for 7 holes is annoying and disrupts the rhythm. Despite this, I highly recommend it to anyone who loves a fun course with great food, fantastic cart girls (friendly), and a great time.

Tried out Frisco Lakes after a long time away. The course has invested in some time management and pace of play guidelines. We played in 4:15 on a weekend mid-day. Compliments to the staff and marshals for trying to implement! Course is solid from 1-18 - good shot values, good layout, easy to see your lines. Great practice facilities too. I would not hesitate to play more here.... if.....

My 'why' comes in for conditions..... before making the tee time I called in and inquired about any maintenance issues. The response was "none right now" from pro shop. However, all 18 greens have recently been aerated with large plugs and were rolling about 5 on the stimp. Several tractor tire tracks at cart path bends were noticeable too. Why will courses not disclose conditions? The greens made for a frustrating day on an otherwise positive experience.

Greens were recently aerated so they were very dandy. Other than that, the course was in great shape. Would recommend and will be back

Played the course many times. Great track, has character, smooth and fast greens, but the pace of play…holy moly! Putting a group out every five minutes was crazy. Waiting for every shot guaranteed. The round was north of FIVE hours. Great staff, great practice facilities, fun course, but that pace of play was a killer.

Love this course, love the layout, and overall great staff. However, since they went down to eight minute tee times a couple of years ago, it’s been getting ridiculous with pace of play. They have a great membership, which brings a lot of players every single day, but the Marshalls do absolutely nothing to keep pace of play and the layout (with multiple drivable par 4’s) on top of eight minute tee-times doesn’t help. They really need to fix this.

This course is a solid 4 star regarding conditions. The problem is the starter and the Marshalls.

The course was busy and my tee time was at 12:32. Apparently a member decided he wanted to play and the starter squeezed him in between the 12:24 foursome and my 12:32 time, also a foursome. It was cart path only which made no sense to have a single playing in a cart. Much less squeezing him in between 2 foursomes.

We were on every tee ox when he was waiting for the players to clear. Turned out to be a 5 1/2 hour round and never had a Marshall address the bottleneck.

That could have been avoided by not having the starter do a buddy a favor.

Loved the course layout. Speed of play was good. This course offers you shots that reward taking risk. And offer consequence when shot is missed.

Even accounting for coming out of winter, course was not in shape for its price point. Most bunkers under repair without sand or even if they had sand were unplayable. Tee boxes in rough shape too. Greens were the highlight. Some vanilla and plenty of interesting holes. Great set of par threes. At this price, would expect better conditions but the bones of the course are solid.

I’ve played this course during the week two weeks in a row now and waited on every hole both rounds. It was so slow I called the clubhouse both rounds as no marshals were going around the course. In addition for some unknown reason they keep dumping sand on the greens. The greens appear to be in good shape and haven’t been punched but they have a lot of sand on them. No idea why but it’s a horrible putting experience as the ball doesn’t break, bounces a lot and are slow! The course layout and fairways are awesome, and if they would stop putting sand on the greens and work on faster play it’s a great course and place. Clubhouse has good food and service is all around is good. But the slow play is very frustrating.

Played with a couple that had moved from Florida. Had a great time with them.The course was in great shape. Only downsides were there was no cart girls on the course and it was hot ,hot hot. Course concessions stand was also closed.Only bad thing about the course , they had sanded a lot of the greens, making it difficult putting.Will probably go back in the fall.

This course strikes a great balance between challenge and playability, making it ideal for intermediate golfers like my son and I.. The layout offered a mix of wide fairways and tighter approach shots that require thoughtful club selection. Bunkers and water hazards were strategically placed the geens were moderately fast with subtle breaks, rewarding solid putting. The course is well-maintained, with lush fairways and smooth tee boxes, and the pace of play is generally steady. A welcoming clubhouse and friendly staff round out a solid golfing experience. Great Father's Day experience.

Putting green is always closed. The chipping and sand trap practice area has been removed. They replaced it with a childrens 9 hole putting green thats aways closed. Alot of bare areas have been re-soded. If there are any fairways that are being work on they make that hole cart path only instead of ropping off the affected area. Even if your pace is 4 hours some off the marshalls will harass you to play faster even if its cart path only.

If you want a 6 hour round any do id the week this is the place to waste your money, as a member ill be quitting and going elsewhere, cart path half the round and punched greens. I play all across the metroplex and this is by far the worst pace of play I’ve experienced, time and time again. Irving and mesquite are it, even frisco farms is better. Only thing this place has is a nice pizza grill and new club house

Been playing here twice a week, for the last year. Staff is friendly, food is good, and course is a fun layout. However, the course moved down to 8min tee times and the pace of play it’s getting absolutely egregious. Afternoon play on a Friday or weekend is 4:45 hours on the most lucky of days. Average round being well over 5 hours every single round, and getting worse, is driving people mad and often hear stories of people getting hit into. Ownership needs to honestly think about how to fix as the membership is a great deal, but eventually people will have enough and leave.

Course, little pricey for conditions, lots of course repairs. Greens were great but lots of course fairways under repair. Cart path only of front 9..they should always tell you!
