Stewart Peninsula Golf Course
About
Stewart Peninsula offers a nine-hole golf course along Lake Lewisville with dual greens on every hole. On the first round, you'll play from the red tees to the red flags, and on the back you'll go yellow to yellow. After a straightforward opening hole where the only real problem is a pesky fairway bunker, nos. 2 and 3 start a trend of interesting holes. No. 2 offers completely different looks from each set of tees. The right side pin placement presents problems because of the lake, and the left flag rests close to greenside mounding that will send balls bounding afar. Misses here should find the bunkers, as the recovery is not all that difficult from the sand. Stewart Peninsula's third hole is probably the signature, and a 250-yard drive will put you in prime position to go at the multi-tiered green. Avoid missing back right, as the up-and-down is especially difficult from that side.

Any golf course open on Christmas is great.
Met the owner Brandon. Wow what a great story on this guy. Business owner and open on Christmas. Great time. Gave us free beer and snacks and the golf was great! This course has a great design. Short but more character than 90% of all golf courses in the metroplex. Food needs to be improved but we had a blast and will be back. Great value and the best senic holes.
Poor conditions
The course is definitely run down.
The greens are in ok shape, but the fairway was like concrete with little to no grass which makes challenging to get under the ball.
9 hole course
Wish I had known this was a 9 hole course with two sets of pins. New to golf so didn't understand that going in. Not really my cup of tea. Course was well maintained and presented plenty of challenges.
Really enjoyed the 5(10) par 3's and short par 4's. course totaled 66 strokes!
Would have given 4 stars if price were 20 dollars. Not sure how this ranks as a top course.
Used to be really good
Course has seen better days. Used to be one of my favorite places, nice and quiet, right on the lake. But the condition of the course has really fallen. Greens spliced way too late I guess cause the marks are still really visible and bermuda is pretty much dormant now. Fairways thin and hard. Unless you live close by and get a great deal i'd definitely go somewhere else.
Worst course in DFW, don't waste your money.
You get what you pay for!!, that is so false!!, I paid $25, and I can go to better courses for the same price or less. It's advertised as 18 hole course, and is a 9 hole course that you can play twice, they have 2 flags on each green but they are both on the same green. Horrible greens, I have more chances to make a good putt in my own yard. No fairways, is all tall grass. Cracks everywhere. Driving range is 150 ft, you can use any higher that 7 iron.
This course was more like a cow pasture
Not worth the money. Spend it somewhere else. It's no good
Very nice course. Water on most holes
Course is in good shape. Staff was friendly. Course will challenge you from the back tees.
This is a great skills challenge course.
I really enjoyed playing here. The weather had been bad so the course wasn't crowded. Although there are plenty of par threes, they are at my range limit--200 yds. There are only 9 holes with two sets of tee boxes and greens. This was a help because the second round was somewhat familiar. I would come back to use clubs that I don't normally get to use.
Great views and greens in the great shape!
What a gem. I was looking for something special. We sure found it. The staff was great. Other golfers we played with were fun. We played an 18-hole round in less than 4 1/2 hours.
The course is in great shape. Challenging and in good shape. My golfing partner and I are seriously considering a membership there. TOO FUN!
9 hole course
Golf Now does not mention that this is a 9 hole course. It is not worth the money that i paid to go a play the same holes twice.
greens in excelent shape
The course is well maintained. Fun to play, Plays quickly. The greens roll true and are at a moderate speed
Disappointing
Not really much good to be said about this course. The parking lot isn't paved and just has rocks and dirt for a parking lot. This might be acceptable for a course located in the sticks but not in the middle of north Dallas.
It looks like they ran out of budget half way through construction and just stopped at 9 holes. What you are left with is a 9 hole course that has two greens per hole. There's 4 pars 3s, 4 par 4s and 1 par 5. Once you finish playing 9, you just play the same 9 holes again from different tee boxes, firing at the other flag located on the green.
Pros:
- Greens roll true
- Located right off the Lake Lewisville
Cons:
- Confusing layout
- Over priced
- Terrible fairways
- Tee boxes are uneven
With so many golf courses in the metroplex, this is one of the worst I have been too, especially when you consider the price. It would be fine as a 9 hole course, charging 9 hole prices that you play on the week days but that is about it. I am trying to play every course in the metroplex but I won't be returning to this one.
Great for beginners. Slow play. Friendly staff.
I didn't realize that his was a 9 hole course that you played twice. Slow play, staff was friendly and courteous. Great course for the beginner such as myself. Might play again one day.
Decent.. but probably wouldn't go again
I guess I missed the 'double greens' because I didn't know what it was. There are 2 hole locations and 2 greens and 2 sets of tees on each hole. It was pretty crowded and fairly slow. The overall pace of play for my round at 4.5 hours was pretty slow for a ~6500 yard course.
It was ok for the price but I probably wouldn't go back again.
Short Course
Course is short, par 65. Only 9 holes that you play twice from different tee boxes and shoot a different pins on the same green. Beautiful scenic views of the lake. Probably good course for beginner or for someone that does not hit the ball very far. I was disappointed in the length and there was only one par 5 on the course. This is not a course I would play again but think for some players, they might really enjoy this track. I am not a fan of 9 hole courses in general as there is not enough variety. Greens were very small and hard to hit.
Not crowded, and low priced.
Was a little upset the cart girl never came by during the first 9 holes and the one water cooler was full of ice but no water and it was 100 plus degrees so we just left after the first 9.
Nice Scenary
Course is pretty bad, but the surrounding lake provides an excellent backdrop for a relaxing day. It was more fun watching the boaters than playing the course.
Nifty course!
This was the first time I played this course. I wasn't aware that it was only 9 holes. Playing the first nine was neat, good hole placement and great location for a course. But, the back nine seemed mundane and a bit boring. You'll move tee boxes slightly and play one of two holes per green. I enjoyed my outing but don't know if I would choose to play this regularly.

Your assessment of this course is off the mark. The two flags are on greens that are joined on most of the holes with a clear separation between each green. Granted the greens aren't the best, but they roll true. There is tall grass on the extremes of the fairways, but you can't say that there aren't any fairways and it is all tall grass. It may not be PGA tour caliber, but you know where the fairway is on each hole. Lets also consider your comment of the driving range. If it were 150 ft, you couldn't even use a sand wedge. It is short and they do have signs advising not to use drivers. Very much doubt that you couldn't use any club in your bag at a 20+ handicap. You might want to spend more time at a true driving range or get some instruction before playing your next round.
