Solid Track
Course is always in good condition with excellent greens. Course offers a nice mixture of short and long holes for par 3,4 and 5's. Accuracy is a premium as missing the fairway put you in some nasty rough that virtually make it I possible to get out of if you're lucky enough to find your ball.
Bunkers are a bit better than average for valley courses. Staff are a,ways friendly and courteous. I have only played during mid week so pace of play has never been an issue.
If the course was closer I would play here a lot more often.
Excellent course
Great layout and prestine greens.
Great time
It was a great round even though it was raining.
Top Notch Valley Course
This is one of the better kept courses in the Central Valley. Layout is awesome, lots of "birdie holes" if you can keep the ball in play. Would prefer a physical layout with bunker distances off the tee, maybe gps on carts. Other than that, wonderful course. Will play again for sure.
Very Good!
Really like this links style course. While taking some golf lessons from Jim Perez I asked him what his favorite local course was and he said, Ridge Creek!
I had to try it and it didn't disappoint. Great layout, worth the drive. They really need new golf carts with gps in them to help with figuring out where the bunkers are.
Always fantastic golf and service
Enjoyed a fun round with some GKers, both local and some SoCal guys who came up for the day. Our group may have been a tad slower than I prefer but as we had the course to ourselves I just let myself enjoy the day and after we let a pesky threesome :) play past we cruised around in 4hr-ish.
Overall great design with a lot of undulations and movement created out of flat farmland.
Conditions are very good even during the hot hot hot summer.
Tees - were lush with a few being so lush (not uncut) it was hard to stand the tee upright
Fairways - were actually cut a bit longer than the normal tight firm conditions and were all in good shape
Greens - were all smooth with few to no ball marks depending on hole locations, they are running quite a bit slower than normal due to summer which on these very large greens is a welcomed relief
Bunkers - are DEEP even in the fairways and are plentiful in numbers. On this course they are the one area where conditioning can lack, they can range from firm to soft sometimes within the same bunker and numerous of the nearly 200 bunkers have critter damage -nothing terrible but it does stand out when the rest of the course is top notch.
Being in the center of the Valley farmland, burrowing critters can be a nuisance. You can see their presence in areas. The maintenance crew has done an excellent job keeping them relegated to the edges of the course and kept the playing areas clear so they are more of a visual problem and rarely in play.
I highly recommend this course.
Great Round of Golf
My round at Ridge Creek was great. A great layout and fun to play. Fairways and greens were fabulous. You do have to get your ball in the fairway or primary cut rough. Really enjoyed my round of golf.
Unexpected Pleasure
Got a great "hot deal" so I decided to drive down from Fresno and give the course a try. The course staff was very friendly. One of the regulars asked me to join him so I got a little local knowledge. The course was in great shape and was a very nice lay out. The area is pretty flat, but the course makes good use of all of the available terrain features. The greens were tough for me to read but rolled true and very receptive to shots played in. There are a number of tee box options so a player can tailor the course to their game very easily. The only minor complaint is that the bunkers were pretty crusty and wet below the surface - tough to play out of with a blast type shot. Keep the ball in play and this course is relatively easy, but miss the fairly generous fairways and you will have a tough go of it.
Excellent course
Played twilight on a weekday afternoon and was very satisfied with everything about the course. The lady in the golf shop was very friendly, the driving range and practice facilities were second to none. The best conditioned range balls I've hit in a long time.
The course was in great shape, fairways were perfect, greens ideal. The only knock I have is maybe creating a combo tee that's white/blue. Whites are fairly short at 5900yds and blues are fairly long at 6500yds for the average golfer. I found myself struggling which tee to use, I think a combo tee in between would work better for most average golfers.
Great!
Country club feel without the snob appeal. Restaurant and bar second to none!
This course is an awesome course to play at!!!
This course is a great course it has a little of everything a golf course can offer. From easy to semi difficult faiways and greens. The greens and fairways are excellent it always seem like I had a good lie no matter where I was out on the course. I would definitely Recommend this course to anyone that plays golf or to someone who is playing golf the first time.
Awesome course. But...
Course looked great and well maintained. It would've been nice if some how the course would let golfnow know that course was sandedand punched. Good thing we only lived a couple of hours away. But for some one coming from out of town, that would be disappointing to find out right then and there that the greens are sanded and punched with no warning. Other than that course would've been awesome I'm sure. We'll be back to play it again when greens are back to normal.
GREAT value with Golf Now
Disclaimer : I was in Ridge Creek's players club several years ago , when I had more money & more time to play, and have always liked the course , but only played it twice in the past year. My only complaints about RC are (1) it's on the pricey side, compared to other muni courses, especially on their twilight rates, and (2) the pace of play can be agonizingly slow, as the rough is totally unforgiving, and the average hacker will lose a lot of balls (and spend a lot of wasted time trying to find them all, to no avail ), and the few times I've seen a ranger there, nothing is done to speed up play.
Having said that, I was pleasantly surprised when I spotted a great price for RC with a hot price, as I had never seen a Hot Price for RC before, so jumped on it . I was really glad I did - Had a good round and enjoyed being back. I was playing as a single & did have to go thru several groups during the round, but it was all good.
The course was in OK shape, and the greens have always been on the faster side which makes for a nice challenge.
I should add that RC has a very nice bar & grill for your 19th hole, and the club pro Tim is a great guy, very friendly, professional & welcoming.
Great greens.
Excellent value and friendly staff. Course is as good as advertised.
Practice Range
I really enjoy the short game on the practice range. It gives me a great warm up before I start the course.
Happy the course is part of Golf Now
I've always enjoyed the challenge of the links style course! But to have the course in such great shape makes it a win win!! I'll start playing there more now that it's on Golf Now!
Long challenging course
I played the course on a Thursday and there was no waiting to get on or waiting while on the course. The play was fast, the only delayed we had was when we miss the fairway, it was sometime hard to fine the ball. The greens are in great shape and where fast on this day. You must know where to land your ball on most of the greens due to the undulation of the greens. I played the black tees and most of the par fours where over 430 yards. It is one of the better course in the valley.
NICE COURSE, BUT
THIS IS WELL MAINTAINED COURSE,WIDE FAIRWAYS, LARGE GREENS WELL KEPT. THE ONLY DRAW BACK OUR GROUP NOTICED WAS THE SIMILARITY OF SEVERAL OF THE HOLES. FROM THE TEE BOX IT WAS LIKE PLAYING THE SAME HOLE OVER AND OVER. THAT BEING SAID WE WILL PLAY HERE AGAIN
Dinuba - worth the drive!
Played the Blacks (72.0/123/6995) with RGM2525 on a 2 person Golf Moose deal in 3H, 40M riding. Teeing off around 8:40, the weather was breezy, sunny and in the 80's.
My 1st time here in slightly over 7 years. I see a combination of Olivas Links & Rustic Canyon here. The lack of actual water hazards, low rough close to the fairways and the undulating fairways/greens remind me of Rustic. The wide fairways and huge greens remind me of both Olivas & Rustic. The very penal native rough reminds me of Olivas.
The tees were good, mowed close, well maintained.
The fairways had good coverage and were mowed tight. Firm and lots of roll, the course played shorter than almost 7000 yards from the blacks IMO.
The rough close to the fairway is mowed down close, almost as low as fairways on some courses. However, slightly outside that is the native rough, which is both thick AND deep in many areas. Assuming you even find your ball, advancing the ball even 50 yards out of that stuff was often a challenge.
The sand traps were nicely maintained with thick moist sand that was getting fluffier as the round drew to a conclusion. Almost too fluffy on the fairway bunkers, I had a fried egg on a ball that bounced and rolled the final 20-30 yards into the trap?
The greens putted nice, firm and medium fast. They are very large & undulating, 3 putts waiting to happen.
No water hazards, but IMO, this course's slope/rating are too low. It's long, and while the fairways are wide, it's questionable whether you will even find your ball if you miss the fairway by much here. Customer service was good from all encountered. Had an excellent burger & Arnold Palmer for lunch after the round that was a little on the high end cost wise.
Like the layout, would play here more often if it was not almost 4 hours north of my house. Recommended = yes.
LOL #1 reviewer, that didn't take long. Weber and sixpez better watch out over on gk. Always appreciate your honest reviews.
