El Tigre Club de Golf
About
Located in Nuevo Vallarta, El Tigre Club de Golf enjoys views that stretch to the western Sierra Madre. The design team of Robert Von Hagge, Mike Smelek, and Rick Baril transformed what used to be a flat piece of land into a lush, tropical paradise. Nine water features were added, which come into play on 12 holes, and the terrain was molded and contoured to provide interesting elevation changes. The golf course's proximity to the ocean means that it is also subject to strong prevailing winds, especially in the early evening. The course finishes with two of its most difficult holes. El Tigre Club de Golf's par-3 17th has plenty of sand and water in play to prepare you for the beastly par-5 finishing hole. This 621-yard monster is practically a par 6 with water down the entire left side and a green surrounded by sand.

Fantastic Golf Course & Club
This is the ultimate in Golf, Fantastic golf range, and the course is in immaculate shape with water on more than half the holes, but fairways are wide to accommodate the amateurs in us. The bunkers are many, and you will end up in them for sure but the sand is hard so much easier to gt out of them. The greens are in fantastic shape and are true and fast, but once you get the hang of it. Its truly a fantastic course. They used to have crocodiles before but I believe they have been removed. Lots of birds and Iguanas and nice homes line up the fairways. The staff is great as well. Definetly recommend a trip here. You can rent golf clubs and the pro shop has a great assortment of golf clothing and equipment.
Combination of different challenges
El Tigre is offering a combination of different challenges: water, sand traps, with good par 3s and very interesting par 5s... one of 620 yards...and several doglegs..
I wiil recommend without any doubt.
Amazing!!!!
First time but won’t be the last. I was in PV visiting. Had to play golf while there. Chose El Tigre based on recommendation and reviews. So worth it. Get you tee time and enjoy the course. Mire than 10 water holes which I like the challenge, water holes have magnets, am I right? Enjoy!!!
Another great day at El Tigre!
My wife and I enjoy this course more than a couple of others. Its fair to golfers of all levels, I'm low 80's and my wife is about 100. The greens could be a little faster, but I understand they don't want to lose them either. A really great place to play!
Taming the Tiger
El Tigre is in fantastic shape. I recommend practicing a little putting before your round. Greens can be a little tricky and fast in spots. Staff are always so friendly and accommodating . Pro shop always has a special discount each day. Have a ball and enjoy #6, the island green par 3. Roooooaar!
Good facilities
Nice course and good facilities. Greens are very good.
Nice resort course
Was nice course. Similar to most resort courses in FL for comparison. Good layout though and some fun holes. Too much $$ for morning round by far but enjoyed it. Would play again—but not for the morning price, no way.
Afternoon round.
I booked a tee time on Golfnow for the afternoon as the twilight rate was much cheaper. It’s my belief that all the courses in the area are overpriced after November 1st. The weather has been unseasonably cool, so the afternoon round was completely doable. My first time at the course. Staff was friendly and very helpful. Nice bar and clubhouse. The course is well laid out and is long so you get your monies worth. Lots of water along with a signature par three island green on the front nine. The course is well maintained and enjoyed our afternoon. Played 18 in 2.5 hours. I will definitely go back but would honestly not pay full price for a morning tee time. The $79 dollar deal on GN for a 1:20 tee time was well with it though.
Love it
Fourth time I have [played here, one of the best courses in Mexico!
Conditions
I always find the course conditions at the el tigre to be excellent.
Island Green
Always a blast playing this course. Long but fun. I hit the island green today. Just missed the birdie. Oh well, few more rounds to go
Great Course!
Girlfriend and I booked last minute on GN. Surprised at the nice conditions and friendly staff. Would definitely play again.
Bunker tarps
Staff are very friendly from check in to the club cleaning. The sand traps need refurbishing with new liners.
Quick Round of 18
Staff very welcoming and helpful, started right on time and finished round in 4 hours so pace of play was great. Course is fair and the fairways and greens are in reasonably good shape. Would definitely play again! Only complaint was overpriced rental clubs.
