About
Located in Nuevo Vallarta, El Tigre Club de Golf enjoys views that stretch to the western Sierra Madre. The design team of Robert Von Hagge, Mike Smelek, and Rick Baril transformed what used to be a flat piece of land into a lush, tropical paradise. Nine water features were added, which come into play on 12 holes, and the terrain was molded and contoured to provide interesting elevation changes. The golf course's proximity to the ocean means that it is also subject to strong prevailing winds, especially in the early evening. The course finishes with two of its most difficult holes. El Tigre Club de Golf's par-3 17th has plenty of sand and water in play to prepare you for the beastly par-5 finishing hole. This 621-yard monster is practically a par 6 with water down the entire left side and a green surrounded by sand.

Golfer Reviews
Not happy
There was a storm coming in, so I called ahead to see if they were going to close the course. They said no I came to play and it started to rain after five holes and they called me off. The course only gave me a rain check for nine holes would not let me play a whole 18 or start where I left off Was going to charge me 2900 pesos for the other nine .
Great Golf Course!
The golf course is great! The only thing bad was the greens… They were in maintenance, minced and the ball wasn't running as it should!!
El Tigre
I’ve played here several times over the years. It’s a nice layout, but the course is not in good shape. It’s off peak season but there were several areas where the grass has grown wild. Greens were burnt and damaged.
First time at El Tigre
Very well laid out and challenging due to winds and hazards. Lots of bunkers and water. Greens and fairways a bit burnt out, but overall very acceptable for 80 USD. I would't spend 190 however.
Interesting Layout
Enough risk requires strategic play, but is not intimidating. Would like to play it when the greens haven’t been recently plugged, as they were during our round.
Disappointed
Greens were terrible. Ball bounced everywhere when putting. I had a 2’ putt as soon as I touched it ball shot left. Aeration holes looked like they did it with a shovel. Some grass on the green was as long as the fairway. I’m sure it can play. Much much nicer, just not this time of year. I’m a 3 handicap and rented very nice Titleist clubs. I played very well, but due to the poor greens, couldn’t score. Call first and make sure the place is playable. They probably should just close it down until the greens fill in.
The fairways has a lot of very dry areas and had lots of weds.
The greens were in bad shape and DRY
Great course and amenities
Great course with challenging holes. Surrounded by a lot of water and sand. Great scenery. Came with complimentary range balls, tees and water which is nice. I would recommend buying your balls at a store before you come here. They also sell used balls for a cheaper price. We rented our clubs as well for 50 each but we are members of paradise village.
Way to expensive
I don't know what is going on in PV, but golf prices have sky rocketed! Last year, I played this course 4 or 5 times for around $65-$75, this year, they want $297! This course is simply not worth over $125, at all... It's an okay course but totally flat and is basic. Fairways are as hard as rocks, so balls roll but the course is brown...
