Riviera Cancun Golf & Resorts

About
The Riviera Cancun Golf Club is the most recent addition to Cancun. Jack Nicklaus has done remarkable job carving this gem using the natural contours of the terrain, this course boasts strategic bunkering, immaculate greens, wooden bridges and the peaceful tranquility of the natural reserve that surrounds the course. Golfers will also enjoy the ocean views on holes 14 and 15.
The spectacular Mexican-Contemporary Club house greets guests before they begin their journey over bridges, through the dunes, mangroves and lakes which are only some of the elements which make this course visually stunning. The resort is 100% Mexican owned and is located in the Hotel Zone and only 5 minutes from the airport.

Great golf in Cancun
Riviera Cancun Golf Club is a fantastic test. It starts softly and gets interesting “quick”. Had a great time with my oldest son. The heat beat us not the course although as the day wore on and the greens dried out and got hard they became extremely quick.
Beautiful course with lots of interesting water and forced carry holes.
FYI no one told us that they have coffee and breakfast available plus your round comes with a complimentary lunch in their cafe. Don’t miss out like we did on day one of 4 days!
Staff is super friendly and helpful. Nice putting greens but the range could use some work.
Clubhouse includes a locker room for cleaning up after play.
Also if you are staying at one of the local resorts your round includes free round trip shuttle transport services to and from the course.
Don’t miss out!!!!
All Inclusive at a great price
We loved this course, although we both lost a lot of balls in the water. The fairways and greens are beautiful. The bunkers are terrible as there is virtually no sand in them, but who cares on vacation: ever heard of a free drop :-) We got a special deal with Golf Now and even enjoyed the all inclusive experience that would normally have cost three times as much. Free drinks and snacks during the round and a lovely 3 course à la carte cooked lunch after the round with good wine and spirits. We will be back!!!
Premium course -Riviera Cancun GC
I know playing a course in Cancun would be a little pricey but Riviera Cancun GC is highly recommended after my experience. I don’t mind paying premium as long as I enjoy the experience. The golf course is in pristine condition, greens were in great shape & the view was awesome. It’s designed by Jack Nicklaus. In addition, Riviera offered so much stuff like with green fees it included food, drinks (alcoholic & non-alcoholic), and the best part transportation pickup back & forth from our resort. Our location is 30-45 minutes away from the course but it’s so personalized that it made it so comfortable & convenient. They have friendly staff from their front desk, restaurant, and golf staff. We’re treated with special courtesy! By the way, their food in the restaurant was delicious! I’m planning my next round in a day before I head back to the states. If you’re looking for best value for the price you will be paying, Riviera Cancun GC is the course for you!
Great course, but sand traps need work
One of the nicer courses near Cancun. Fairways and greens are in very good condition. The design is good, lots of water areas and with fairly wide fairways that are lined with thick trees/jungle. The one area that needs help are the sand traps. Some have sitting water in them, others have lots of rocks and most are very compacted. It is best to avoid them, and if not use a club with minimal bounce.
Good challenge
A few recent reviews seems harsh. Conditions were good, course is challenging, staff was friendly, food & drinks were delivered every 3 to 4 holes during the morning.
Range and carts could be better, but not a deal breaker.
Overall, the course is a few investment away from being great. All and all, good course
Blah
Ok course. Great weather. Range balls are painted balls they find on course. No marshalls. Was behind a 6-some for most of the round.
Before flight at home
Near aiport, possibility to play and flight in same day at home
Customer service lacking
Overall course was fun and challenging. Was disappointed with the customer service. We paid almost $200 for the round that was all inclusive of food and drinks. No range balls were provided and we were instructed that we could go out in driving range and retriever balls. The drink cart person came once every hour..
There was no ice in the coolers and provided reuse-water bottles in the cooler with no ice.. we ordered food from the cart person because the restaurant was going to close before we completed our round. Never brought my son’s order. He never apologized and did not try to make it right. I left my sunglasses in the cart. They had emptied and cleaned our clubs and knew we were in the lobby, but never attempted to return sunglasses.
If I hadn’t returned and asked I feel I would’ve never received them. Disappointing end to a fun day!
Fun track
Me my son and brothers played this course 2 days in a row. April 5th and 6th 2024. First day not knowing the course made for some challenges. All inclusive rounds. Had to remind the drink cart to visit us more than every hour as we paid good money to play course and wanted to take advantage of the all inclusive perks. Day two was better as we were aware of the course layout and played a better round. I unfortunately the bar and restaurant closed at 4pm so we would not have completed round in time to get meal so cart server took our food order. Brought everyone’s food but my son who is a vegetarian and ordered clearly explained what he wanted. His meal never showed. Very disappointing as we paid almost 200 dollars to play and did not get what was paid for. The driver didn’t even make an attempt to make it right. Another group in front of us had the same complaint. Customer service was lacking. I had also left my sunglasses in the cart. They had cleared out carts and he clearly knew the glasses belonged to us but never made an attempt to find us to bring. We had left carts 5 minutes earlier. If I hadn’t gone back to ask I’m sure he would have kept them.
Overall course was fun. Customer service could use some work!!
Worth it
Some patchy fairway areas but overall really good. Fairway bunkers needing sand. Great experience made better by not being busy. Get in before the hotel opens
Fun in the sun
Great course. I paid $300 ($130pp + tax) for 2 and our round came with all drinks and food.
The only thing I would say is unless it’s a divot tool DO NOT BUY ANYTHING AT THE PRO SHOP.
Wife needed clubs and balls so we rented clubs ($60) and purchased balls. The balls were $80!!!!!
The club rental was a very nice set of Callaway clubs, Rogue driver, woods and irons.
All in all a fun tight course and would definitely play again.
Course shuts down at 430 pm
Booked a 140 tee time paid in advance. Came to course and it was wide open but food and drinks are included in round but cart literally never came around not once and everything closed at 430 which wasn’t in the booking so you couldn’t finish or get your meal. Course greens and tee boxes in terrible condition. Save your money go anywhere else
Good course
Good course but never play after noon because the course close at 4h30 pm. Finish or not and go out of the course. Why ?? I don't no. At this time of the year is possible to play until 6h30 pm.
Very Average Mexico Golf
The course is very average in both condition and design... Hence the 3 star rating. Very overpriced as well for what it is. It is an $80 course back home. Not one of jack Nicklaus' best.
