Gillette Ridge

Had been looking to play this course for years on Golf Now. It’s a haul for me about 100 miles. Price was great and the course was in great shape. I played in the early afternoon and breezed through the first few holes. After that ran into lots of people. Was told they are very busy in afternoon.

Loved the course! Not overly long unless you go all the way back. Every hole was interesting and challenging. Have to play it a few times to figure it out. Greens were in good shape and although not heavily bunkered had lots of roll offs where creative chipping was necessary. Wouk

It was a typical CT. summer day with high heat and humidity with afternoon thunder storms forming. With a pre booked reservation a week in advance the 4 of us were faced with a 1:00 pm tee time and these thunderstorms slated right in the middle of our round. I called the course first thing in in am and explained our concerns and asked if we could tee off any earlier. Without hesitation our request was granted we teed off 3 hours earlier than our scheduled time. Finished our round, had lunch at the course scampered to our cars in the mist of a noisy thunder storm. Thank you Gillette Ridge Pro shop you made our "DAY"

For the past 3 years I’ve been a member of gilette ridge. This was the first year I decided to cancel it. The past 2 years I’ve enjoyed the challenging and fun course and good conditions. The pace of play was normal about 4 hours for 18 give or take. This year the course has declined. The pace of play is horrible. I’ve been out at 6 am all the way until late afternoon and it’s taken way too long. They seem to pack people into the course. In all honestly it’s not worth $70+. You can go somewhere else with that amount and hopefully get a better pace of play. It was 95 degrees out and it took 4 hours to play 9. There were multiple occurrences with groups waiting on the tee box. One or two times it was 4 groups on the tee including us. We called the pro shop atleast 3 times and they said a ranger would be out. Didn’t see 1. This is a beautiful challenging course. It’s sad to see the management letting it get out of hand.

Love this course. New Management is really getting it back into "primo" condition.

Arnold Palmer would roll over in his grave at the immaturity and lake of civility this supposed to be championship course . It was a nightmare , from Jordan the supposed gm ( who bailed ) to Lukas the pro that blamed everyone else . Try to call and it goes to a full voicemail or a high school kid picks up

We showed up an hour before our tee .Checked in hit balls and went to the tee too find out they double booked tee times . No problem. No one helped us after that . They changed starters , the club pro offered no help . I went in to tell the pro shop the double booked and they had no idea . No water on the course , cart girl showed up after the 17 ( it was 90 and humid I’m not being a baby ) and the turn ran out of bottled water at 1:30 . I hope Arnold Palmer management doesn’t make this a trend .

Challenging course but very nice conditions overall. It seems to be a course that you'd have to play several times to score well. Try to stay out of the traps because many of them aren't in the best condition. We played after a lot of rain so it was cart path only which makes for a lot of walking.

Only played 6 holes. Unfortunately cold rain all day.

Stopped after club flew out of hand Lol

This was my first time at Gillette Ridge. I would say the pro shop staff were not particularly friendly but I got checked in. Found my group and we were off. Course is somewhat challenging in particular for a first timer. Great layout and conditions. I think its a must play
