Wintonbury Hills Golf Course

Course was in good condition but could use some rain. Greens putted true but still showed signs or aeration since we have not had much rain lately.

Took a little off for aerated greens, paid a good discount for walking so really can’t complain, other than that always a good battle with Mr. Dye.

Always nice, great staff, but no way they should be charging full price with punched and dandy greens with no warning about it of any kind

Good to excellent overall, only complaint is the greens are never soft and receptive, have to play old man golf on some approaches and hope for a good bounce. Which of course leads to green speed being very fast which I like but don’t get many opportunities to experience as a public linkster..

We purchased 18 holes online and were told to purchase carts separately on the day we played. When we arrived we were told there was a 40min frost delay and offered a rain check. I declined thinking that we had time since it was 2pm. They neglected to tell us they also had a tournament going on. We only got to play 12 holes over 5 hours before having to leave because it was dark. When I asked for a rain check for the remaining holes they offered me 6.00 per person and nothing for the unused cart. Plus we had to redeem it within a month. I will not be returning or recommending them. They shouldn’t accept tee times with an active tournament in play.

We were in the area for a wedding and found this course on Golf Now. Hilly, a lot of elevation changes. Course was in great shape, moved along well, a bit over 4 hours but we never had to wait on the tee box for the group ahead to finish. Very friendly staff. Would definitely play again if in the area.

Love this course. True fast greens. Do not like the cart price. All rounds on Tee off should include cart price. Theirs was high.

We play this course on 8/21/22 for a youth tournament. To say that I am disappointed is an understatement. First, we were charged 25 plus tax a person for spectator carts. Per person! I have never experienced that in the 100+ tournaments my son has played in. One of the people in my cart was a 5 year old child. So 83.00 for two carts for 3 people one of them being 5….. when I asked about it I was told they would reverse the 25 for the child but that never happened. Also, I was told that this was the price for this particular weekend. They actually jacked up the prices for this weekend.

The staff on this course made it clear they didn’t want us there. Again, I’ve never experienced this. Typically everyone is very welcoming. You would think we were at Pebble Beach the way they acted. But I digress… three loud mouth guys pulled up to the tee box behind my son (9 years old) and his partner (8 years old). They started yelling from the tee box for the kids to hurry up and get off of the green. And fyi. … no chance this guy was driving the green considering his first drive went sideways. My son’s caddy asked the men to stop yelling at the kids. The man told my sons caddy that these kids shouldn’t be on the course today and they should find somewhere else to practice. These “men” then pulled their carts next to me and started complaining about the tournament and looking for a spot to jump in between the groups. One of the “men” then said to me that these kids are taking their time to line up putts when that is the least of their problems. Again… 8 and 9 years old. Someone went and complained at the pro shop. The pro said he didn’t care what they said to or about the kids because they are actual members. 1. Why allow a youth tournament on the course if we aren’t wanted? 2. Who talks to or about kids this way? 3. Did those “men” ever find the 10 balls we saw them shank into the woods?

My husband really liked the course and wanted to play in the fall with his friends and then get dinner. We will not spend a dime there ever again.

We were clear with our tournament director that we will never step foot on that course again. Unless of course these guys want to play my son to see who really belongs on a course. Keep me posted.

The only issue was it wasn't noted very clearly cart was excluded?? Had to pay extra
