Westdale Hills Golf Course

About
Originally the “elite” Sotogrande Country Club, a fancy 1960s par 3 track that was the finest of its kind in Texas, Westdale Hills was given new life in the late 1990s after being run down and abandoned. Part of the Westdale Hills apartment complex, the course plays around a lake, with water coming into play on most holes if you’re really hacking it up. Only three holes force a carry of the water. A few bunkers allow you to work on your short game, and the well-kept Bermuda greens can get pretty quick depending on the time of year.
Getting there : From DFW Airport, take 183 to North Richland Hills and exit Central. Dead end at Pipeline and turn right. Drive about ½ mile to El Camino Real, and turn left into the apartment complex.

Overall the stay met my expectations.
The course is fairly easy, especially for beginner golfers. However, as a Senior with arthritis in both knees it took a toll walking the course. I did not notice only pull carts allowed on this course when making the reservation. The course has some hills and water which makes it challenging.
Great value, lots of fun
This is a very fun course to play casually with a very friendly staff. The water hazards offer a challenge as the lake is in play for nearly every hole.
Fun to play
1st time playing here, and will definitely be back!. Met a Dad and his son-n-law. The course is a Walk only course. Got some great exercise, and thoroughly enjoyed it!!!
Great Par 3 course
This was a great par 3 9 hole walking course. I enjoyed myself and will definitely be back.
Great nine hole course!
Great nine hole course! The course forces you to improve your irons and short game. The staff is awesome. Mike helped me get all set up and provided some tips. Pace of play is great, so allows you get in quick round of 9 or 18.
Great Little Course
Had a blast with my nephew (14yrs old). Course was in good shape and everybody was friendly (staff and other golfers)
Clubhouse locked. Grounds crew can't get in
Showed up for tee time. Club house locked. Called with no answer. Greens crew waiting at door trying to get ahold of someone. No response. Really weird. Maybe everyone is off for holidays. But golf course was full.of people playing
It's Ok
Personally, I wasn't able to hit anything above my 6 iron (205 yrds). If you are looking to get some practice in with your wedges and small irons, then by all means I would recommend this course. The greens are not the best and some greens proved to be faster than others. Nonetheless, if you are just looking for an easy round to catch that won't take but an hour or so, this is the course for you.
P.S. they do not provide golf carts nor do I think that there are any permissible on the course.
Good practice
The holes make you use different clubs so it is a good hour or so practice
