Westdale Hills Golf Course

About
Originally the “elite” Sotogrande Country Club, a fancy 1960s par 3 track that was the finest of its kind in Texas, Westdale Hills was given new life in the late 1990s after being run down and abandoned. Part of the Westdale Hills apartment complex, the course plays around a lake, with water coming into play on most holes if you’re really hacking it up. Only three holes force a carry of the water. A few bunkers allow you to work on your short game, and the well-kept Bermuda greens can get pretty quick depending on the time of year.
Getting there : From DFW Airport, take 183 to North Richland Hills and exit Central. Dead end at Pipeline and turn right. Drive about ½ mile to El Camino Real, and turn left into the apartment complex.

Fun Par 3
This was our first time at the course and will definitely go back. We had lots of fun. Challenging enough for experienced players and not too hard for beginners.
Challenging course for beginner
Challenging course for a par 3 especially for a beginner we had playing with us. Pro shop staff so unfriendly it bordered on rude. Don't go there to hang out at 19th hole. Staff is brutal. Go to the Colossal Sandwich Shop 1.8 miles away. Voted top 100 places to eat in all of Texas! Found it by mistake, but OMG! What a sandwich!!!!!! Our 19th hole was awesome and super cold AC there to after a hot round.
Always a pleasure coming out here
Course is always clean. Pace is perfect for me because I am still learning & need a bit more time to line up. But it's a great place to practice since it relieves the pressure I feel when playing bigger courses & have to wave others in front. Its also a great little 9 with some challenges because of the water & hills.
$13 for 9 Holes
For $13 for 9 holes I was extremely impressed. The course was nothing amazing, but the greens were decent and grass was ok. Just the value for the money I am very happy with. For a quick round to practice irons I would go back.
Warm up 9 Before 18 Round
Nice Course, good layout, Elevations help me decide how much, or less of a club to chose.
Played in a Nice family group today. No Marshall, no cart girl. Honestly not needed at this Par 3 course.
I recommend Westdale Hills golf course if you need more accuracy and Putting. Well I played another round after this Par 3 nine it helped me fine tune before playing a more difficult course.
The greens were not in the best of shape, but since the course was in a local community you cant compliant to much.
I do wish that the residents would not walk their pets near golfers who are Teeing off.
Again, I enjoyed both rounds today regardless of the distractions and pets at the Par 3 course.
Tough
Great use of terrain to make the course tough. Water isn’t in play much but got me on 9. Fun course and worth a membership to work on various irons.
Good deal for the money
My wife and I are beginner golfers. I’ve played off and on for 20 years. This was my wife’s first time to golf. It’s a great starter course. It’s tough. It is not a super easy par 3. You definitely have to work as a beginner to get the ball in the hole. We had a lot of fun. It’s hilly and great exercise.
