Westdale Hills Golf Course

About
Originally the “elite” Sotogrande Country Club, a fancy 1960s par 3 track that was the finest of its kind in Texas, Westdale Hills was given new life in the late 1990s after being run down and abandoned. Part of the Westdale Hills apartment complex, the course plays around a lake, with water coming into play on most holes if you’re really hacking it up. Only three holes force a carry of the water. A few bunkers allow you to work on your short game, and the well-kept Bermuda greens can get pretty quick depending on the time of year.
Getting there : From DFW Airport, take 183 to North Richland Hills and exit Central. Dead end at Pipeline and turn right. Drive about ½ mile to El Camino Real, and turn left into the apartment complex.

Good practice
The greens are slow but roll true. If you are looking to improve your 130-180 yards out game it is a perfect place.
Great course for the money
After living in the area I finally decided to play this course.
And let me tell you it is a great course if you really want to practice
And sharpen your short game skills . Green are in very good condition
And clean. I’ll definitely play more in this course
Watering
Sprinklers were left on and grounds keeper soaked greens right in front of my play
8am tee time
Showed up at 750am to check in and pay my greens fee and score card but nobody was at pro shop waited til 830am no one ever showed up
Great small course
My son and I went to play! Amazing customer service!
Fair
We didn’t realize it was a par 3 walking course when we booked it. Not their fault but bring your own walking cart if you have one. Those are off limits during the pandemic. The course was well kept with a figure 8 lay that makes you cross a street twice with clubs. It was also hard to find the club house when arriving and the surrounding apartments are a little too close on some holes.
Covid 19
Gorgeous day to golf, 70 degrees. Staff always friendly. Let me tee off on 7 since foursome was on first tee box. Hit 2 balls on every hole. Greens need some work but I believe course has only been open about a week Problem with many people not golfing right now will they have the income to improve the greens paying the maintenance people. Even though I shot terrible I had a decent time. Getting away from house arrest for 2 hours and paying 11 dollars I will do it again. Bring your own pull carts.
Worse greens in DFW
These were the worse greens I have ever seen. They were super bare some were almost only sand. The little grass that was there made it so bumpy. Course was a cool layout and scenic but even for the $10 price it was not worth it.
Par 3 Heaven
Very picturesque - not so little par 3 course. Lots of water to hit over and around.
All holes are full sized par threes. I hit 5 iron down to wedge playing from the back tees.
Greens still recovering from top dressing - but should be perfect in a few weeks.
Loved this fun little walking only track. Will be back for more.
Upgrade trying
Once course is upgraded it should be better lost a lot of balls
Good short course
It’s a nice, quick 9 hole course. Super cheap, so it’s a good value. Biggest surprise is that it is seriously so short, there are no carts - walking only. I had never heard of a course like that before, but it is legit so short it would be weird to have a cart. Course condition was fair, the water was a nice touch.
Nice walking course
Pretty nice little course but doesn’t seem like a great part of town. Nice if you are looking for an easy course to walk. LOTS OF WATER that comes into play on almost every hole. Would go back, worth $10 or so.
Good fast course
I enjoyed it. Finished in about an hour. Not very busy. Greens and course we're in good condition, and staff was friendly and helpful. Will go back again sometime to work on my short game. Great value for the price paid
